Basic Freesat HD box - small?

Since I have a sky dish with LNB on the wall and a coax running from it to the sitting room all doing nothing, thinking it might be worth getting a basic Freesat HD box to expirience all this fuss over HD tv channels....

Whats a good, but basic (don't need any bells or whistles, no PVR functionality etc) Freesat HD box to go for, and are they any small ones? (as in not like a full size DVD player size, more like the smaller Freeview boxes you can get as I'm really pushed for space!

Also, what HD channels are now on Freesat, is it BBC1, ITV and Ch4? Is it REALLY worth going for a Freesat HD set up (when I already have a really good Freeview PVR set up) for (what will really only be) three channels?

I have, and believe, the Humax HD box is the right one to go for, its about the size of the Xbox 360 HD DVD player (maybe a little bigger).

You get ITV HD and BBC at the moment.

They look really good, not always loads of shows playing but its only gonna get better and considering the box cost around £100. I think its worth going for.

Re: Basic Freesat HD box - small?

The three clones from Goodmans, Grundig and Bush are 257mm by 165mm by 42mm. The Humax is 280mm x 45mm x 200mm.

CH4HD is currently encrypted as it's supported directly by SKY but expected to eventually go free to air but no time table yet.
It's worth checking out your local DSO, Freeview will be offering at least 3 HD channels in due time.
