Freesat through existing motorized dish ?

Hi.
Anybody know if I can use my existing motorized 90cm. dish & looping through my Echostar Motorized Receiver which has Input & Output connections for the LNB signal cable & then connect the output to a new Panasonic G 10 Plasma TV with freesat built in. Would I need a Quad LNB? Obviously, I realize the dish will have to be pointing to Astra 2 when I want to watch Freesat.
I'll be watching either Freesat or moving the dish to Hotbird for other channels at any one time. Someone please help. Thanks.

Re: Freesat through existing motorized dish ?

No problem looping through from your Echostar to a Freesat HD box.

I have a motorised dish using a Topfield digital receiver with a built in positioner, and loop this through to my Humax Foxsat HD box.

To receive Freesat signals you will have to turn your Echostar to stand by as it takes precedence for the signal.

Re: Freesat through existing motorized dish ?

Hey, Robbie 34. Many thanks for that. I'm looking forward to getting this set up & running.
I've already pointed the dish to Astra 2 & scanned all the channels but can't identify the Freesat channel using the Echostar. Is it called "Freesat" & will only a Freesat Receiver be able to identify it ? I realize I won't be able to receive any broadcasts till I get my new Panny TV with built in Freesat. Thanks again.

Freesat don't have any channels, Freesat is just an alternative epg to a subset of the free to air channels available on Astra2/Eurobird 1 so there's no channel to find. A freesat box will get the epg from Eurobird1. So you are already viewing all the freesat channels and more. The Panny will simply add the HD channels BBC HD, ITV HD and Luxe HD
