Just tried to set up the Humax Foxsat PVR with my Pioneer plasma through HDMI. On starting the Humax screen is visible and then goes to a screen with a 'please wait' message which shows for about two seconds. The screen then goes green and the Humax box shows 'Wizard' on the front display panel. I guess it's trying to take me to the set up screen but get nothing but the green screen on the plasma. I'm wondering if the software is corrupt and doesn't progress to set up. Anybody got any thoughts?

Sounds like a hdmi handshake problem. Connect via scart to check this. You could try turning the TV off and on to force a hdmi hdcp renegotiation

Thanks Graham. You are right. I spoke to Humax today and they knew immediately what the problem was and directed me to Pioneer who are aware of the HDCP problem on HDMI connection. Pioneer have a scheme to correct this problem which also occurs on Sky+ HD. Apparently they will send someone out and possibly change my media receiver box.

In the mean time you should be able to use the hdr using a scart, You will have to wait for the full HD experience though.
There should be no reason why you can't record HD to watch after your tellies fixed.
