New House freesat install help/advice

Hi, I'm buying a bungalow that needs totally doing up, and part of my plans is to install a multiroom network of freesat or tv aerial points.
As a Electrician (whos never touched a tv system) running coax cables in walls etc will not be a problem.
If I want multiroom freestat do i need a seperate coax from the lnb to each room and then a individual reciever in each room to decode to the telly. What cable do we recommend.
Any recommends on a good quality freeview enabled aerial signal level is pretty good

Use PF100 or WF100 for all connections (including terrestrial TV). Each satellite tuner requires it's own lnb connections giving you a limit of 8 tuners (4 pvrs which normally have 2 tuners).

If you need more than 8 you will need a second dish or use a multiswitch.

More explanation here

Digital Spy Forums - View Single Post - Will the new Humax PVR work with 1 LNB feed?

If you want a freesat box get a Humax Foxsat-HD (single tuner non recording) or a Foxsat-hdr (twin tuner pvr).

If you want a generic fta box there are dozens of these. Hopefully one of the fta enthusisasts can advise.

Re: New House freesat install help/advice

Hi.
I am building a house at the moment and went with the multiswitch option.
It needs four sat cables from switch to dish for a quattro lnb.
You can combine the sat, tv and radio inputs into the switch then route them down one cable to a triplexed point in the room and have the 3 outputs on the one faceplate, for example.
If you want sky plus or a twin tuner recorder though you will still need to run 2 cables from the switch, one for each tuner.
If the above doesn't make sense it is worth googling multiswitches as it really isn't as complicated as I make it sound.

Multiswitch. Multiswitches to be used with a quatro LNB. Satellite Superstore UK. Big Discounts.

Just one point that nobody has mentioned, because of the losses in a multiswitch it's wise to go up at least 1 dish size on the minimum required for your location.
