Can anyone help, just ordered freesat from sky on the £75 deal, includes fitting / box for freesat plus 4 free months of sky variety pack with option to continue at £16 month. Can I swith this box to a second hand one of ebay Sky / humax / thomson box etc or do I need a HD Card? I would assume I would lose the free variety pack for 4 months but what is the best option for free HD?

You get to keep the Sky box and viewing card forever (or sell on) but you'll need to get an HD box either Sky or Freesat if you want HD.

Dont cancel your Sky Mixes yet as you've got them for "free" for 4 months. Be sure to cancel after THREE months if you dont want to carry on though else you'll get stuck with a 12 month Sky contract.

You can switch the Sky box at anytime for a Freesat HD box with no subscription. If you ask the installer to fit a twin or quad LNB and cables you can use both boxes.

I got the Sky £75 Pay Once watch Forever as the cheapest way to get an installaion, Sky for 4 months and a Sky box/card to keep or sell. I've now ditched Sky and got a Humax Freesat HD PVR after initially getting just a basic Freesat HD box for a while.

Great, didn`t realise you get tied into a 12 month contract. Does the sky HD box need a card or is that just for sky services not freesat? and what is an LNB? and will they charge extra?
