any reason why these won't work outside UK

Humax HD PVR Free satbox.

legalities aside this should work outside the UK right?

I currently have SKY+ and I'm currently paying 19 quid to tape ITV and BBC programmes on an dodgy old noisey sky+ box.

In theory I could purchase a freesat box and save my 19 quid per month?

Yes I'd miss out on SKY one, Documentary channels and Childrens channels but I can get these from another source. :D

As Sky and Freesat are broadcast from the same satellite, there is absolutely no reason as to why it should not work.

Now to source such a box without having to catch the ostend - dover ferry.

You'll be lucky even if you catch the ferry - they're sold out the minute they arrive at retailers; see for example this thread - anyone know when humax hdr boxes will be in stock?
