Best Freesat Box

Hi all,
Looking at getting a Freesat box for the bedroom due to having a sky cable already in from the dish which works the sky+ downstairs.
Any idea's on a good box, HD not really inportant due to lack of HD programms on Freesat etc.

Any help would be great

A) SD Freesat box
B) HD Freesat box

Many thanks

Re: Best Freesat Box

I bought the Humax Foxsat box and have to say its been a great piece of kit. I was the same as you with regards to SD or HD but found that it wasn't too much more for the Humax box and thought since my tele is Full HD I'd like to take advantage and also be prepared if there were ever any additional HD channels launched.

Its really easy to set up and use and would definitely recommend it.

There is only 1 freesat SD box made and manufactured by Alba. It's sold badged as Bush, Goodmans and Grundig and is the same box internally. As it's for a bedroom you could use a 2nd hand sky box or a new fta box (from about £20.00). The sky box (without a card) will give you a working 7 day epg the fta one only now and next programming. Both will get all the same fta channels as a freesat box.

I used to have a old sky digi box from my old house connected up to the sky cable, i also had a sky card in the slot which i had previously had with with that box. The card tv package was cancelled and it all used to work fine but then the box broke. Am i better of getting my hands on another sky box from a local areail company and putting the old sky card in that. Is they any diffrence in channells you get with having the card in etc
