Re: Humax Foxsat HDR

I bought one yesteday in Currys for £299.

Following the advice of a forum member I went to my local Currys and asked them to search all there local stores for item number 808073. The one i went to didn't have any, but a LOT of the other stores had several. I went to one that did have some and asked about them, they were not on display but did have them "out the back".

Hope that helps.

Hi

I e-mailed Satbuyer and they are expecting stock in on the 19 January - decided to go local and I have just ordered one from Comet (£292 + £99 for installation) - stock due in 'mid January'

Smile Re: Humax Foxsat HDR

I went round to local TV shops and picked one up at the second try this week. The boxes seem to be out there just not in stock centrally at the big retailers.

Re: Humax Foxsat HDR

Wonder if when they are all back in stock later this month if they will drop the price, am sure before christmas they were selling around £262.
Have decided to ditch sky+ but cant give notice till the 22nd then have to give one month so I should be in a position to buy around 22nd Feb and sell my sky+ box
Funny when we got sky+ we were going to record all sorts but find we record mainly ITV and BBC1 so a bit of a waste of money.

Remember to ask for reduction in vat to be deducted . I did on Boxing Day at Curry's and they obliged no hassle got it for 291.81.

Curry's seem to be only big retailer with them at mo.

Re: Humax Foxsat HDR

Curry's have stock which was supplied to them pre-Christmas, they just aren't flying out the door as Curry's have not been advertising them, and in most cases not even putting them on the shelves.

Not PVR's have been distributed since pre-Christmas, as Humax's manufacturing and distributor teams both had Christmas shut-down. Distribution is expected to start this coming week...so expect to see activity from the online retailers...although I wouldn't expect price drops, the product is still very much in-demand.

Re: Humax Foxsat HDR

Thanks to all and this website for the advice.

I used the Currys idea quoting the item number. There wasn't one instore (Crewe) but there was one left in the Stoke store 15mile away.

It's now plugged in and working well.

I caught a glimpse of the stock screen and saw there were six in stock in a manchester store, but didn't see which one.

Thanks, took your advice and walked into Currys and hey presto 1 left in stock and purchased, thank you

Re: Humax Foxsat HDR

Just to update as have had a few offers of humax freesats

I have been given advice from a friend who has bought a freesat reciever from humax direct - he is not satisfied due to the amount of channels and says he would have waited (with hindsight)

Dont usually get advise BEFORE buying its usually after

So have bought a Topfield freeview recorder at a fraction of the price and will sit and wait for channel content to improve and prices to fall

My advice for anyone wanting to sell their freesat unit is sell it now on ebay before prices fall as there is a bit of a feeding frenzy going on due to lack of stock.

Thanks to this forum for advise
