I think the root of your problem is where you say it took EDF 3 or 4 months to install the Satellite system, presumably including dish. I'm assuming you previously had a Free
view PVR, which was adversely affected by the wind turbines, and EDF thought the best course was to replace this with a satellite dish-based system.
However, when this work was authorised - say last August or September - there was no
Freesat PVR on the market. The only Freesat PVR currently in existence - the Humax Foxsat - only became available in November or December. So EDF gave you what to them at that time seemed the next best thing - a Free-to-Air satellite PVR, which will get you most or all of the Freesat channels but, as Fred Smith says,
not the Freesat EPG.
It seems to me you have 3 options - (i) buy your own Humax Foxsat, except it will cost you £299, and it's in great demand and a a s-d to get hold of; (ii) go back to EDF, and tell them what they've given you isn't a fair replacement for what you had, and ask them to get the Humax (though they'll have the same problem finding it); (iii) put up with it.
