TS cutting and editing

Spent quite a while surfing net for free cutting tools.

Found
SourceForge.net: Project X - DVB demux Tool

It's a Java application

It a bit quirky and the doc I can find is old and does match it exactly

Doom9.net - The Definitive DVD Backup Resource

However I have a 2.8G film I saved from the Foxsat and it cropped the start and end overrun adverts in about 5 mins !

Will say how I did it in next separate post. Note: I have not used it much but it passed my first test.

Other tools I found to work are
VLC media player - Overview
SUPER © .
DVD Decrypter

Re: TS cutting and editing

What worked for me ...
Once you unzip run projectX.exe and maximize it.
Then file add and select your TS file
Then whilst still on file tab ( at bottom ) select your output directory
Then at bottom select cutcontrol tab
There is a slider that goes right across middle of sceen
Move that up till start of film and press the top left icon in Cut Points, the left of the bar should go red.
Move slider up to end of file and press same icon the right of the bar goes red. So the bar is (red cut out adverts)(green film)(red cut out adverts)
Then find the big "prepare >> button", sort of top centerish and press it.
A new "ProcessWindow" pops up and will probably have demux seleted, you don't want this as it seems to split the video/audio into two file.
Select "to TS".
Then press the big green play button and sit back whilst it process it.
Probaly best to practise on a small TS file first.

As I say I have only just tried it. looks like it can do much more but don't know.
I guess you can cut out middle bits as well.

Re: TS cutting and editing

Hmm above link to project X seems to be source. Not sure where I got "exe" as I am not on my normal PC.

Try
OoZooN.tv
Which seems to be a compile version, run the jar

Also you can spilt the ts into smaller TSs
When in ProcessWindow click presettings and select output tab.
Check the split @ appr.xxx MB and select size of lumps.

Re: TS cutting and editing

Anyone tried projectX yet?
I managed to cut the intro/exit and middle ads from a file and then split it into 4 ts files.
Then using "super" converted them to 3gp which I can then watch on my phone.
Yes I know it's a small screen and I must be a geek!

Re: TS cutting and editing

I have now got the full circle with imgburn ( "Not express burn" )

The Official ImgBurn Website

and
HDTV2DVD
BadgerIT: HDTV2DVD: Author and burn DVDs: HDTV to DVD, HDTV2DVD, SVCD2DVD.

HDTV2DVD converts TS to VODs ( What ever they are ! )
And imgburn burns the DVDs from them.
So I can save TS files from Foxsat HDR and archive them to DVD.

They seem to work for the small trials I have done.

Anyone cracked the ancilary files that FOAXSAT saves with the TS files ?
I.e. convert any file to play on FOXSAT ?
