hopefully a simple question! I have sky plus, if I get a HD freesat box do I need to recable or can I use the existing two cables from the sky dish?

You keep the same cables, LNB and dish.

Do you mean that you wish to use the two systems side by side, or to replace Sky+ with Freesat?

Each tuner (two in a Sky+, two in a Freesat+, one in a standard receiver) needs its own feed from the dish.
