Freesat Connection

Hi newbie hear,
have just bought a Humax freesat box and want to ask the best way of connecting it to the tv (lxd85 )

1 - use hdmi (pros & cons)

2 - component (pros & cons)

The only reason i ask, is i've heard componet can give better pq

I think HDMI is best as component might get blocked if anything is shown with content protection on it.

At present the component ouitput is disabled on ALL BBC-HD and ITV_HD output, although BBC are trying to set up a system to enable/disable on a per program basis.

Very sadly this is absolutely true. I say this because before this happened I had a Foxsat-HD connected by component to My Sony KDL-40W4000 and the HD picture over component was stunning. (Noticeably better than HDMI).

Incidentally for SD pictures the Foxsat often delivers better pictures over RGB scart (This will depend on your TV so you need to experiment). Some say they get the best picture for SD using HDMI set to 720P again it depends on your TV.

thanks for the replys, have set up the tv/freesat today picy looks good will have to do a bit of experimenting to see whats best.
