About a year ago I had a problem with my Pio 435XDE shutting down and displaying a service message via the red LED on the panel. In the end I worked round the problem by disabling the 1080i mode on my PS3. (Details at
this thread)
I had no problems for a year until now - when I plugged in my new Foxsat HD box. I set the picture to 720p using the v-format button on the remote, but I notice that when i switch on the Foxsat, the TV is getting a 1080i signal when the splash screen comes up, then some flickering, blank screen, flickering, blank screen, flickering, 720p TV picture...if I get this far.
More often than not is the TV shuts down during the mode switching process and needs to be powered off and on again. The flashing LED service message supposedly indicates some hardware fault so I'm concerned its not doing the TV any good (although it survived the previous episode)
It does seem at this stage that the problem is more likely to occur when the box is previously tuned to BBC HD, but I don't have enough evidence yet to be certain
If my experience with the PS3 is anything to go by then by forcing the Foxsat to only output in 720p I can work around this...anyone know how I can do this? Or perhaps 1080i only?
The box is running the 1.00.09 firmware and hasnt updated itself yet (after 2 days use). Maybe the latest (1.00.15?) might help? When should I expect it to update? Do I need to leave it switched on overnight or something?
Thanks in advance for advice
