New Freesat Install - Any reason why I shouldn't get this??

Hello,

I'm keen to get a couple of HD channels going around the house and I'm not willing to pay for sky. I spotted this on ebay.

43cm Sky Digital/HD Freesat Satellite Dish & Quad LNB on eBay, also, Dishes, Satellite Cable Freeview, Consumer Electronics (end time 17-Jan-09 13:33:30 GMT)

Is there any reason why I should bag one of these? Are there better quality LNB's that would give me better picture quality? I'm going to be using decent coaxial so I'd rather not cut corners if it's going to be noticeable.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Depends where you are. In the South of the UK the minidish is fine but the further North you are you need the bigger zone 2 60cm dish is required. Even in the South the bigger dish will give you a bigger rain fade margin. Lnb's used in the UK will be fine. Only when you get into difficult areas (Like Southern Spain) do the more expensive low noise designs make a difference

Thanks for your advice,

I'm in the south of England so I'll gamble with one of those. What’s the preferred cable? Is it WF100 or WF125?

I bought a similar one off e-bay, £20 all in including p&p. Fitted it last week, it's fine. Not sure which cable I used, sorry but it was only a 10m run.

Thanks. I did end up getting one from somewhere else in the end, which was 60cm I think. It was only about £10 more so I thought why not.

I also bought a 100m reel of WF100, so hopefully this should be good enough as I only have about 20m runs.
