Is freesat replacing freeview
A salesman was telling me today that "apparently" freeview is being replaced by freesat in 2006..?

Does anyone know anything about this, if it is true, and if so does anyone know if the service will continue as normal or if a new receiver etc is required?

sounds like a load of old salesman nonsense

freeview is terrestial and freesat is satellite

maybe he was trying to sell you a satellite system?

dunno, I was looking at a tele at the time...

so freesat is not broadcasted in the same was as freeview any..

Freeview is the terrestrial digital service using the DTT network which will be around for decades to come and is the replacement for the analogue network.
Freesat is a satellite service, SKY's version uses a combination of FTA and FTV channels while the BBC version will be FTA only.
