Question Freesat Satellite Setup

Hello, I'm thinking of getting a Humax freesat box for my bedroom but I need some help setting it up with my satellite dish, the satellite dish is setup with the sky box in my living room but I would also like to set it up with the freesat box in my bedroom as far as I can see their is only 1 port for a cable coming out of the dish. Is this possable if so how?

Thank You

hi mate,

My dish has 4 ports on it i think but any way i think some do only have one you can get one of these to split the cable very simple box plug the one that go's in to your sky box on the "in" on the spliter and then it splits it in to two signals run one to your sky box and the other to your freesat If you pop in to maplin they will be able to help you get the right cable for the to outlets on the splitter so you will need a short coax and two connectors and a longer one to run to your bedroom with another two conectors.

While a duplexer might work (I've never tried one) you will face more problems if you ever want to add more connections in future, for a PVR for example.

If you really have only a single LNB (it might be worth having a closer look to check) you can buy a replacement quad-LNB for you dish, and run an additional three cables if you wish.

You can't split a satellite feed each tuner has to have it's own lnb (The tuner switches the lnb into one of four modes). The link you posted is a diplexer that lets you use a single cable to combine terrestrial TV and a single sat feed to one tuner.
