Yes the box should work no problem, just need to make sure you have a big enough dish. He wont get BBC Iplayer though

Depending on where abouts in Spain you may not get all the channels. Astra2D is hard to get and in parts of Spain you lose Low Band Horizontal channels in the evening even with a massive dish.
