Humax Foxsat HDR and RemoteLink A280D help request

Hi everyone,
We've just cancelled Sky+ and intend to replace it with a Foxsat HDR. Currently, we have an Antiference RemoteLink A280D amplifier in the loft to which the Sky+ box is connected via 'UHF in' and distributed to multiple rooms via 6 of the outputs. There are also several Magic Eyes to control the Sky+ box remotely.
I'm aware from searching on here that I can swap the Sky+ box with the Foxsat using both satellite inputs but I'm not sure about:
1. whether I can use the A280D to distribute the satellite and aerial signals to multiple rooms (the Antiference website seems to indicate the A280D is intended for Sky) ; or
2. if I can use the existing magic eyes or whether I need to replace them.
I hope this is clear and would be grateful for any help offered.
Thanks, jds.

To get the hdr to output it's own signal using rf like a sky box you need to add an external modulator.

eg

RF MODULATOR on eBay (end time 21-Mar-10 14:53:40 GMT)

Getting the sky magic eyes to work is a little trickier

You need a 9V power supply and a gizmo to turn the remote control signals coming down the coax back to infra red at the hdr location.

This website has all the kit but there may be other options as well

Hi, so if I buy a Smart Blaster and an RF modulator how do I connect them all together? It is Foxsat scart out to modulator scart in, modulator scart out to Blaster RF in, Blaster RF out to my distribution amp then both Blaster and modulator connected to a power supply?
Thanks, JDS

The modulator connects by scart or rca phono sockets to the hdr. That's the only audio/video connections you need. The rest are coax rf. Aerial in to modulator box, aerial out the smartblaster in, smartblaster out to the loft dis box. Both modulator and the smartblaster need power the former to power itself and the smart blaster to power itself and send 9v up the coax
