I have a quad LNB and use three of the LNB's. two feed a Humax HDR and the third feeds my Pioneer KPR-500A TV.

A few days ago I had a problem with the Humax recording two programmes at once, and found only one tuner had a satellite signal. After much checking I found that the third LNB (of the four on the quad)from the dish was dead, and moved the cable from it to the remaining connection. Now all three satellite signals are back to normal.

I've had satellite receivers for years and never heard of just one feed off a multifeed LNB failing before, so anyone in a similar situation should try swapping connections before buying a new LNB.

Modern LNBs are certainly "built to a price". Add to that the insistence on "lead-free" solder, and you end up with bad connections being commonplace.
