It looks like 3 lnbs is the max - I am still well chuffed though!
By the way, the lnb holders worked well... just in case anyone is interested
I used plastic 40mm pipe holders
1. sawed off the bits with the screw holes,
2. sawed a square section piece of hardwood just shorter than the space between the 'legs' of the pipe holder and the right size to fit inside the 'legs' of the pipe holder and to fit under the lnb body
3. drilled a holed through the middle of piece of wood,
4. drilled pilot holes in each end of the wood
5. drilled a hole in each 'leg' of the pipe holder near to the end,
6. screwed a long bolt through the centre of the wood (to make a 'T' piece), 7. put a nut on the bolt to tighten the bolt to the wood,
8. fitted the lnb with a bit of skew,
9. screwed the piece of wood between the 'legs' (the screw tightened the lnb to hold it in place.
10.fitted another nut, washer, washer, nut to the bolt - to enable me to adjust the height of the lnb when fitted
I reckon that each lnb set-up can be made in 10 minutes
The lnb set-up looked a bit like a lollipop with the bolt at the bottom. The maximum width of each lnb set-up is the width of the lnb - the set-up doesn't protrude at all (the fixing bolt is central to the lnb)
I drilled a slot in the aluminium frame in an arc - same as the dish arc- to receive the lnb set-ups. I made a bracket to fix the frame to the original lnb arm
To fit the lnb set-ups, I undid the adjusting nut and one washer of the lnb set-up and fitted it on the frame slot. Screwed the bolt and washer underneath and adjusted the height of the lnb
The good thing was that I didn't need to fit the multi lnb frame at an angle - it is horizontal - because I could easily raise each lnb very precisely - and as needed - using the nuts and washers on the bolt. I could also alter the skew by slackening one of the screws into the piece of hardwood a bit - then re-tightening
Also, because the fitting for the lnbs was a single bolt for each , I could rotate each lnb set-up (ie the whole thing) very easily to improve reception.
the thing works and looks quite neat I think
If anyone is interested I could post a picture - again, I will need to be told how to do so!
I am already thinking about the next grand satellite scheme!
Very many thanks again to everyone who has helped with the techinical questions.
