Question ITV London HD Problem

Hi,

Going a bit crazy here.

For a couple of weeks now, my Foxsat ITV1 HD service on the red button is busted.

When I watch an SD feed on ITV1, all is fine. I receive the on-screen message that the programme is available in HD, so I press the red button. Screen goes black, sound for a few secs (Dolby Digital scrolls along the screen of my Sony STRDA2400ES) then nothing. Even the Sony goes dead, showing 5 dashes on the screen. Pressing the blue button a couple of times get's me back to SD land.

Also, the Humax FoxSat box won't record ITV HD content (fine with BBC HD). I am in West London.

Any ideas? Wondering whether it's the FoxSat, the Sony, The Dish or the ITV feed.

Welcome any thoughts - even if only to rule things out.

Cheers.

Hi Ealingboy - I'm in Greenford, so just down the road from you. I've got a Humax HDR, and have no problems with either watching or recording ITV 1 in HD, so I think we can rule out ITV 1's London feed.

Thanks Tony,

So sounds like its the Humax FoxSat or the Sony then.

Any owners found this problem?

Strange that both tuners are effected. It's normally caused by mheg firmware corruption. A factory reset should fix it.

Hi ealingboy I live in essex and had trouble with ITV london after calls to both freesat and itv (who advised me to re align the dish)

I clumped the dish and this brought it all back online.

So it maybe your dish is fractionally out of alignment

Thanks all,

I've checked firmware etc. and all up to date.

I'll try a full factory reset on the Humax, and the old "switch off and on" trick.

If that fails, I'll tweak the dish a bit.

Now to find some ITV HD content..........

I'll let you know the outcome in case others are facing a similar problem
