can you get a Freesat HD box with two HDMI outputs?

Hi, I'm looking for a hi-def freesat box (recording is not required), but I want to be able to connect and preferably show the same channel on a hi-def projector and LCD TV at the same time. None of the boxes I've looked at so far have twin HDMI output, but I gather the Humax can output component as well as HDMI at the same time, would there be any disadvantage to connecting the TV using the component output, or can anyone suggest a box with twin HDMI?

Thanks all, mel.

You can get an HDMI splitter from £40 or you can use the component output
The component output of the HUMAX is not really great as it uses the internal DSP (crap)
The HUMAX has not got a 1080p mode so possibly the component is limited to 720p but I am not sure you need to test it
Try first connecting the TV to HDMI and the projector to component and see if you like the results (I doubt it) then connect the projector to the HDMI and see if it gets any better than the component
If HDMI is your preference get a splitter or a cable multiplier (cheaper but possibly worst)

What content are you going to play mostly? The HUMAX generally performs better through HDMI with V-format set to original

Forget the component it's disabled during HD transmissions. HDMI splitters and switches are readily available though.

eg

Neet® - 2 Way HDMI SPLITTER BOX 1x2 Port - Active: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

£32.50 seems very reasonable and you can keep the HUMAX v-format as original, I wonder if there is going to be some lag though

Its wanted pretty much exclusively for showing sport - mostly football and horse racing as it's for use in a private members club.

Hmm, if the splitter introduced too much lag that would put the audio out of sync since they're going to have to use the phono sockets on the freesat box to connect to their sound system when they're using the projector.

Thanks very much, I guess I'll have to get a splitter; I take it this is something to do with content protection and the phono outputs aren't disabled too?

Yes you need HDMI with HDCP and component does not support HDCP
The audio L+R works in any case
