I thought it was worth a quick

for Freesat and the Humax - I've read plenty of negative comments on it in addition to the great reviews.
I've just bought a humax freesat HDR from amazon £240. I had the dish installed today £100. saving on virgin media is about £24 month, I also now have twin tuner PVR and one HD channel.
Setup was easy. remote control is absolutely fine, intuitive compared to virgin media. Menus etc all very intuitive, it just seems to know what you want to do and the 'default' option is always the one you'll actually want. just think it's really good software design and some people seem to be knocking it a bit. Beleive me, going from Virgin media box, it's a tremendous step forward. Imagine it like Amazons website, compared to one of them really rubbish intranet sites you get at work, made by someone who doesn't have a clue about the user experience. hooray for good software.
As for BBC HD, well it's a better picture quality than SD...what more do you want? I'd say it's like going from PS2 to PS3 quality. SO it's better but hardly a revolution. It certainly doesn't look as crisp as say a 1080p PS3 game.
finally the remove works as a 'universal' remote and for me 42z3030d toshiba, the correct code turned out to be 1508 ( thanks to avforums, again! for helping find the right code).
so if anyone doubts freesat, don't it simply works.
