I have just bought a plasma tv with freesat hd built in, and was wondering how i could receive the freeview hd channels. I have got Sky+.
will i have to buy a freesat hd box and if so how will i connect it, but still keep my Sky+. Is this possible or do i have to buy a Sky hd box. Very confusing!!!

To connect your freesat-HD tuner you simply need a coax cable running from one of the two spare lnb outputs on your sky dish to the TV.

btw is your plasma the new Panasonic 600hz I've wondered
if it makes a lot of difference over 100hz models.
They claim its for motion blur - is that for freeze frame only?

Mike
yes it is a Panasonic TX-P42G10B 42-inch
600hz I have just bought it yesterday and it is taking a bit to get used too not sure about all the technical jargin some channels look a bit blurred but having moved from an old 26" to this is a bit daunting. As for motion blur i will be watching some footy this weekend so i will be able to tell then.

Don't do this, it will eventually chafe and crack by rubbing on the roof tiles, potentially causing water to flow down the cable into your Freesat TV/Receiver, damaging it.

If it is because your dish is on the other side of your house to the TV, see if you can run it through the loft.

Rgds.

Cheers for that, i already have two cables over the roof for as long as i have had sky, which is a lot of years, but may consider this.

Glad you're impressed with your set. I used to watch the 'High Tech Toys & Electronics' shows on QVC. They sold a lot of Samsung plasmas. The guy demonstrating them, kept going on about their high contrast ratios. I can remember one of the last shows I saw - he actually stated that one of the
Samsung models had, wait for it!....a 2000000:1 contrast ratio [yes 2 million to 1]

I'll have to have a look for my manual, but I'm almost certain my tv has a contrast ratio of only 3000:1. Although its quite a low figure I'm still happy
with the picture quality. HD on it looks so sharp you would think you were looking out the window!

Mike
Hi mike
Don't get me wrong my son has HD through Sky and is great, but it is two years old and things get better and better so unless you have pots of money you can never keep up with technology.
I am considering to go for HD from sky they have a promotion on at the moment where you get a free HD box if you take out Sky movies, but they still want £30 installation fee, which i think is a rip off after all, how hard can it be to connect two cables.

regards
John
