Has ITV HD stream changed???

Probably a false alarm but somebody credible on another forum is claiming that he can now add ITV HD manually to a freesat box. As in, he can now scan that frequency on manual tune and ITV HD appears as a named channel.

Could somebody check this as my box is out of action.

My head says he is lying but he doesn't seem the type.

Yes I saw that one, just seen another one on another forum.

If true then surely a full channel is imminent, maybe even december 2nd like with freeview.

Or, more likely, it is a vicious rumour that some teasing sod started for a laugh.

Surprised noone responded to the thread with the boiler guy.

Maybe it was just a temporary test of some sort. I am tempted to set my box back up to check but can't be bothered at 1:30am.

Re: Has ITV HD stream changed???

ITV didn't make any official announcement for a full time HD channel on freesat. I can see them just casually introducing this stream without saying a word then adding it to the epg later on.

Strange thing though, the guy fixing the boiler said it was a bush SD box. Would a HD stream even appear on there?

Having had a plumber out to my boiler 4 times in 2 weeks, and him claiming it's fixed each time, I think I would let SD boy have a go.

The poster seemed credible though. If you look at his post history, he has posted only 15 times since he joined 2 months ago and every post was a helpful contribution about either freesat or freeview. Some of his posts were updates on channels added to freesat. And you can tell from the services list under his name with all the angles of satellites that he is a genuine sat enthusiast.

Perhaps the other one I saw just saw his post. This rumour could go viral.

I hope it is true though. Are you able to check on your box?

Oh well. I hope the poster is happy at winding people up.

If you have an account there please tell him to shove it.
