Bbc hd

I bought the foxsat mainly for the SD up-scaling (which i am impressed with) its a good job as i am finding i don't actually watch much on the BBC HD channel.

Taking tonight as an example on HD there is antiques roadshow on from 20:00 until 21:00 a programme which is on SD on a Sunday evening, on SD they have Eastenders at 20:00 and Panorama at 20:30, these two programmes are by far more popular than antiques roadshow so why are they not on HD, examples like this can be found throughout the week.

Re: Bbc hd

Eastenders set needs a massive makeover & upgrade before being ready for HD.

Rgds.

Antiques Roadshow is on BBC HD tonight, which you would have found out if you set a watch entry on the SD epg entry as it would offer you the HD alternative (assumimg the HD epg works the same as the hdr)

Re: Bbc hd

I think you missed my point, AR has always been on a Sunday evening, why put it on a Monday night on HD at the same time as two of the most popular programmes on BBC1 SD are on, why not put Eastenders and Panorama on the HD channel at the same time as the SD version and move AR on HD to Sunday night at the same time its on SD.

Because BBC HD is a channel in it's own right and unlike ITV HD (which has to simulcast HD and SD) has it's own epg and schedule. They clearly thought the one off DR Who Confidential was likely to attract a bigger audience following as it did the Dr Who special. Eastenders is not made in HD and AFAIK know neither is Panorama and they are not allowed to show programmes with more than 25% of upscaled material on the HD channel

Re: Bbc hd

Thanks for the explanation.

I'm glad I bought the Foxsat more for its up-scaling capability than for what I can watch in HD, I dont think i have watched more than a handful of BBC HD programmes since i got it.
