Re: someone to help me please

I think it's unlikely that someone will give their phone number to a stranger on the net, but you never know.

File Manager is one of the worst documented features of the HDR, what exactly is the problem you are having with "downloading", USB, etc., we'll try to help you out here.

You cannot currently easily put external films on a usb and watch them on the HDR, because of the information required in some sidecar files that the HDR expects. A contributor, Raydon, has done some sterling work on this, and is looking to release a tool to make it easier to put external video files onto the HDR.

You CAN record and/or watch ITV & BBC at the same time. Have you got a twin or quad LNB with 2 feeds into the HDR, one to LNB1-in, and the other into LNB2-in?

Did you see my post above with the link to File Manager instructions? Also on that site are some very good FAQs on the HDR.

Rgds.

Then you most definitely should have full functionality over recording & watching channels.

Try these tests :-

2 Tests for 2 tuner capability :-

Set a recording reservation on 104, can you set a recording on 136 at the same time as 104? If you can, then you must have 2 tuner capability. (104 is low band horizontal and 136 is one of the few channels on high band vertical). Stop these recordings.

Now, go to 951 BBC 1 CI and start an instant recording, go to 108 BBC HD and start another instant recording. Now tune in to any other channel and press pause. If you can pause a 3rd channel your stb is working correctly, with full 2 cable/2tuner functionality, if not you need to do a factory reset. (You can record two channels at the same time using just one tuner if they are one the same transponder, so if a "friendly" combination of channels is used it is not a true test).

Rgds.

Then it's not recognising that you have 2 feeds, did you add a second after the initial setup? Or it could be that your LNBs are not processing the voltage changes to change polarity.

If all is well with your dish and LNBs, and you've checked your connections are OK, you need to do a Factory Reset from the Menu, watch out for the 2 cables recognised message. You will lose any recording schedules, and any user settings you may have changed, and the volume will go back to halfway.

Then try the tests again.

Rgds.

I'm not sure what you're telling me, why did you go into Manual Tune? Did you check everything from dish, LNB, Cables, connectors? Did you do the Factory Reset?

So have you got no tuner 2?

Go to Menu>System>Diagnotics and what does that show in terms of the 2 tuners Signal & Quality?

Rgds.

It's in the info next to my forum name on the left

It's a wee bit difficult to help if you don't answer the questions I ask, or let me know if you try what I suggest

Anyway, I'll assume you did the Factory Reset and got your 2 tuners back, did you try the 2 tests again?

BTW, which software version are you on? It's in the Diagnostics screen.

Rgds.

@ssttaagg,

I'm off to have dinner now, and then retiring for the evening to watch some TV on this excellent box we have

If you need any further help this evening, I'm sure someone will be around, otherwise I'll be here again tomorrow for part of the day.

That sounds as though you've fixed the problem.

Why are you waiting for Top Gear though? Just start a recording and see whether you're able to view another channel. Don't be afraid to experiment.
