LG 32LF7700 & fresat problems (trying to set it up)

Hi all, I've just bought the above TV to replace a Panasonic 60" Plasma As I've moved into a smaller property & The TV was to big to go up the stairs to the front door as I've moved into a 2 bedroom flat from a 2 bedroom house, so sold it the brother-in-law. Now the problem is. on the wall outside. there's a sky dish with 2 leads in the property i.e I would say that would be for either sky+ or sky+HD & in the front room there's a wall socket with 2 sky input's & a TV input & a DAB input on the box (I believe that's for the sky & TV distribution system for the flats, due to the digital switch over), how do you connect the LG 32LF7700 up to be able receive Freesat? doe's it not matter if i use the Outside dish or the distribution system? if i do use the distribution system what type of lead do I need as there's no leads from it (only from the dish on the wall) & does it matter which lead from the dish I use as there's two of them or socket from the distribution system, cheers forgot to mention the TV has both Freeview & Freesat built in as there's an Ariel & a picture of a sky dish with a input on the back of the set

Re: LG 32LF7700 & fresat problems (trying to set it up)

If the flat's distribution system is actually connected to a communal aerial & communal dish, then you have the choice of connecting either to the dish on the flat itself, or to the communal dish. Best thing would be to see which gives you the best reception (if any, with regard to the communal system). To connect to the wall socket, you can buy a lead with an F-connector at each end at Maplin or similar electronics store. It should not matter which lead/socket you connect to.

If the wall socket is connected to a communal aerial, then you should also connect your TV to that to give you a choice of Freesat or Freeview. Again, a lead with a suitable connector at each end should be obtainable at any electronics store.

One puzzling feature is why the previous owner should have had his own dish if there was a communal system. But he may have had his installed before the communal installation. (If in fact your communal system provides two feeds from the dish, allowing Sky+ or Freesat+, then you are lucky, as most older communal systems only provide one.)

The distribution system has only just been installed 6 months back & I moved in 2 months after it was installed, as found out from next door neighbor . thanks for the quick replay, the market here I come tomorrow as there's a stall on there what sells fly leads for sky & TV as the dish has to come down now the distribution system has been installed as everybody in the flats who has dishes up has all had letters
