very early first impressions are the button placement is fine, not like other people have been saying, the paddle shifters are awesome with a very sturdy quality click and feel.
will give a bit more feed back when i've had more of a play.

Is there a difference between this and the GT2 wheel? (other than how it looks?)

i cant really compare it to a gt2 as the one i had only lasted 5 mins on f1 before it died( 888 fault). its lighter than the gt2 in terms of physical weight . it feels quicker to turn than the gt2.

at the moment im using a set of logitech g25 pedals which are fine for me and the black and red colour of the pedals go well the wheel.

Bingo! You need to order direct from Fanatec. They are a German company.

if you plan to use g25 27 pedals be aware you need an adaptor cable that does not come with the csr.

Indeed, i also ordered the G27 wheel plate for my WSP, it should be ok with the standard one but would prefer the extra security.

Got to agree the CRS Wheel feels very well made and is a massive step up from the MS Wheel i have been using since i got my xbox 360 a couple of years ago.

Only got mine friday and still sorting out pedal position on my wheel stand oh and trying to get used to coming from two pedals to three.

I went for standard pedals as anything was going to be better than what i had and also as and when the CSR Pedals come out at the end of the year its not been to big a financial hit when i upgrade again.

I do find that i tend to lock up the front wheels easier now but that could be due to the change of the driving model in F4 rather than the new pedals, lots more practice and tweaking needed i think.

Jason.

I want a decent upgrade from the MS wheel but because the fanatec gear is a lot of money, will do it in stages. Get the club sport peddles now, then when the csr elite comes out end of year, pick that up. Already have a wheel stand pro!

I'm in the same boat - got the MS wheel for the 360 and DFGT for the PS3 - and would ideally like to sell both to get a CSR. The quality upgrade would be nice, but the practicality of having one wheel for both systems is really appealing. Having to unpack and box-up both my wheels when I want to switch between the 360 and PS3 is a pain in the arse.

The Fanatec fire is burning deep inside me but I don't know if I can afford to make the switch just yet, even after selling my current gear.

Just wondering if someone with a fanatec could do me a favour...

Whats the maximum thickness of desk this would clamp onto? Or to put it another way, how wide can you make the 'clamp' open?

Cheers

EDIT:

Does the CSR even come with a 'table clamp' like the MS wheel? The website isnt clear, i know you can buy a Porsche club sport bracket that seems to be an upgraded bracket?

Confused!

Gents,

What stand do you use with the CSR ?

I'm thinking about buying one, as one wheel for both PS3 and XBox would save me some hassle. I've got a Wheel Stand Pro, with a XBox 360 wheel top section and one with a Logitech G25 top section (for ease of swapping) but not sure if I'd have to fork out for the Fanatec stand ?

Cheers

Got a dispatch email for my CSR yesterday, now to wait for a tracking number.

I'm going to be using my Wheel Stand Pro that i use for the G25 wheel, i contacted WSP and they said the CSR like the GT2 will fit with just two screws but if you buy the G27 plate it's bigger so can accommodate all four screws, so i went ahead and ordered that as well, was €26 via paypal.

I might look at buying the RennSport Wheel Stand from Fanatec if i upgrade to the CSR Elite Pedals, from what i've seen they are too big for the WSP, not sure on that though.
