During a replay, there is an option to make a movie. This lets you upload in either 720p or 360p, a choice of 5-30 seconds to the forzamotorsport.net website. This will remain on the site for 24 hours, in which you have to have logged in and saved the video to your computer.

Then take the saved video and upload it to any video hosting site.

hope this helps.

Been trying to get a clip of me drifting at Tsukuba in the D1 top secret nissan silvia s15 but didnt upload before. Will have to try again.

Re: Forza 3 Video Thread

Also if you try to upload the wmv you get off forzamotorspot.net direct to youtube it doesn't work and comes up with an error, I converted mine to mp4 and then uploaded it fine.

Yeah i noticed that, shame it dont tell u at the beginning.

Best/quickest thing to do is once downloaded from fm.net, open new in windows movie maker, then "publish" to this computer and then upload to youtube. usually 4x less file size but still looks very good. Still an WMV but it works. Mayb cos its a HD file i dunno.

Here's 2 of mine, First was a cam before uploads worked and 2nd has no engine sounds Downloaded from fm.net too.
And as a guide that 2nd vid was a 9mb file after converted with wmm, takes no time at all.

Spent ages going thru all Sidewinder tracks to get some drift scores. Great fun.

Two from the same online race. Had to dive onto the grass at the first corner to avoid an accident and then had to hunt everyone down..

Was expecting sticky grass to kick in but was being squeezed out;

And then loved the fake duke to make the leader run wide;

You may notice me hitting the high revs a little too much. 3rd gear needs tuning, which I hadnt done in the video.

Re: Forza 3 Video Thread

How are you getting to drift like that? I only get half way round a corner before I either drift out too far and whack something or end up spinning out. I am not going too fast approaching corners. Its trying to maintain the drift and even try feathering the throttle but can't get it right.

Things to consider when drifting:

1) steering intensity

2) throttle requirement (mid-drift)

3) initiation (handbrake or power over).

Ive tried to put a 'how to' in words, but it never comes out right. What you need to do is keep practicing a good corner, the rewind feature is a godsend for practice.

Know your car. Once you find a car you're good with, its yours. Dont expect to be good in any car. Find out which revs in which gears give you the right amount of traction loss. Then you can know when the car is going to give way and lose traction before you drift.

Things to note in my vid:

Notice at the beginning how much im having to do to keep the car in check. My front wheels are constantly twitching from steering. Listen to my engine, the revs are irregular and im not always flooring the gas peddle. There is no system to throttling, its just act and react.

You can glimpse a handbrake initiation to the final bit of the video on the first hair pin. For a brief moment, my rear wheels lock up while im starting the turn.

Practice is perfect where drifting is concerned. I use the cockpit view btw. RWD is much harder than 4WD, but more realistic and rewarding, and just how its meant to be done.

Talking

Suprised this thread had died off, anyway...

Not had forza on in a while and had an urge to drive my fave car, Top Secret Supra. So recorded first few laps suprised i could keep it in check after not playing for ages. Couple of nice little drifts.

Love it.

YouTube - FM3 - Top Secret Supra @ Laguna Seca

EDIT

Just watched that again and the way it looks leaving the rubber down at approx 2:43 & 4:10 is outstanding. No car in any game/any format is so rewarding to drive. Feel thru the tyres is immense in this game.
As much as i love true sims like iracing this game still amazes me.
