Musical Instrument section?
Keyboards, v-drums, samplers etc?
Any chance of a small area to discuss.
They're as much "AV" as a Nintendo Wii / Motoring section / Movie Memorabilia at the end of the day....
Fingers crossed!

Re: Musical Instrument section?
Being a drummer I would love to have a section for instruments and musicians, but since this is the first request for such a forum with very few threads existing which would qualify, I doubt that there would be much traffic.
Get me 100 people asking for such a forum, though, and I will create one to test the water.

Re: Musical Instrument section?
Thanks Stuart.
Learning drums myself, electronic kit though, Roland TD-20's.
Something I've fancied doing for years.
Hopefully we can get a little corner here.

Re: Musical Instrument section?
I was looking for just such a section in the last few weeks.
Going to have a bash at some midi sequencing. Might as well do summat creative with all this expensive gear!
Have keyboard, midi interface, pc... not sure what software to use. Garageband would be favourite but I'm mac-less. Any ideas/suggestions welcome. Nothing too expensive or complicated! Considering Music Creator 4 But I couldn't get on with Sonar demo. Too complex! Is MC4 any easier?

Re: Musical Instrument section?
Good idea if it takes off.
Was looking for a music instrumment forum here and lo behold, there isn't one.
Learning to play guitar so a section dedicated to all budding musicians would be great!

Just found my Jump.mid on someone's website:
http://www.ajsmidi.com/alpcond/alpha_10/midi/jump.mid
I sequenced this by ear from a cassette. It pushes the abilities of General Midi quite far and sounds best played through a proper GM compatible keyboard/module/application.

Re: Musical Instrument section?
Learning to play guitar (Very) slowly. Would much appreciate a forum subject.

Woah, that's seriously impressive stuff for GM.
The interplay between bass and drums is absolutely spot on, and I can't imagine how long you spent getting the subtle pitch bending right on the lead...the whole thing sounds remarkably similar sounding to the original.... for GM it's incredible.
Might have a go at this myself.

Re: Musical Instrument section?
Yes, being an avid guitarist, I would love an instrument section.

Great work, ideal for me on V-Drums as I can remove the drum section and (attempt to) play my own.
Do you have a directory of midi's you have created Stuart?

Re: Musical Instrument section?
Son learning electric guitar.
Daughter learning drums.
I bought myself a steel string acoustic beginning of this year which has hardly been touched - New Years Resolution to spend some time with it.
So yes I would support a section.
Cheers,
Nigel
