Apparently United put a bid in for RVP. Whilst I agree if Berba leaves we need a backup striker, I'm not too sure if we should really waste £20M on RVP seeing he is injury prone and going on to be 29.

I agree with you though, i'd be surprised if it wasn't a done deal. Only issue i can see is it seems Everton want £12m, United don't want to pay any more than £8m.

Is it the fact that Fergie and Gill been lying to the fans and have been saying for years that Glazer ownership wont effect the team?
I think the likes of lesser teams such as stoke vila have spent more than you net spend over the last 4-5 seasons iirc,and every Man united fan and his dog can see you need players midfield and a striker.
Baines is on his way but cant see him playing second fiddle to Evra,so i think you will pay the 12mil to your feeder club and sell Evra to Juve for about 7mil. I know it leaves you short at left back but your swapping a older player for a younger player and it will cost you a couple of mil.
All my opinion of course,but i cant knock it because you have still been up there,however times are changing me thinks and unless you spend it could be the biggest season for man united in a long time

I don't think it's any clubs style to be fair, putting in pretend bids? Trying your luck with a cheeky offer, yeah, but pretend to try and please fans, no. As you say that's your opinion and this is mine.

Would be a right laugh if they all got accepted, the bids so far have not been that far off...... "sorry we were only messing, it was a smoke screen put up to please our fans in to thinking we have money"....

Don't think arsenal are going to let him go cheap, would prop be worth 10m to them to hold on to him for the season - as he was this year he might be the difference between them getting CL or not which would be worth loosing out on 10m and gives them another year of trying to convince him to stay.

Take Ronaldo out of that equation and they have spent plenty the last few seasons, net spend is deceiving.

I still don't believe this crap that people say United cannot spent, they spent £50 million last summer and will spend £50+ million this summer so they can spend and I believe they tried their luck with a cheeky bid for RVP who even at 29 would be a great addition.

Imaging RVP up front with Rooney working just behind him betwee RVP and the midfield, would be a great combination.

I agree about Baines if he comes in he will be their main left back or will want assurances that he will be, Evra was poor towards the end of last season anyway and I would love to see him leave the EPL .
