Scottish football was considered a mickey mouse league before this fiasco when only two teams could win, it'll be worse now there's only one.

But if the rest of the SPL have the guts it could be the time to redress the balance of power and distribute the money the game generates on a fairer basis, some radical thinking should be applied e.g. a % of gate money to the visiting team would help the smaller clubs keep their best players and may help redress the loss of revenue when the newco is told to start in div 3.

SPL might even flourish and Rangers not missed

Saw Vlad's comments - no sugar coating on that statement. Probably doesn't care what folk think about the comments

He's an idiot but I think he has said what most of us are thinking. I wonder how his statement will go down with his own fans though?

Three now ! With still no word from Celtic Park, its looking good for sporting integrity.

Though hear there's some skullduggery afoot regarding league mergers to save the cheats...

I saw a comment that green hadn't done the transfer correctly for DD payments for season tickets. Any money taken seems to have gone to oldco for the creditors funds. He's really making a hash of this whole thing, next thing will be the players 'walking away' ......

If you cheat your way to loads of league titles than you should be relegated. I can't believe they're even given the opportunity to stay in the top league. Should have went along the Juventus style path.

No, the gap has been considerable for some time.

However, now those teams who had been attempting to play on a 'level playing' now have the chance to do so - with the demise of those who were in an inflated position due to their financial doping about to be relegated.

A level playing field WILL make the race for third spot tight this year

Ok , my thinking was that those clubs previously competing for third would now be competing for second and a spot in Europe. so if the 3rd place club had been tightly fought over the last few year, those clubs may be swayed into voting the Newco out. Now that they would be fighting for second

So, the start of the 'walking away'(they're going to regret EVER saying that!)

Aluko and 'midfield enforcer' McCabe both say no + 8 other senior players within the next 24-48 hrs.

I'm in New York at the mo - was in a club lat night on the dance floor when a Tina Turner familiar old tune started up

Normally I'm off in a flash - not last night!!

When the chorus duly arrived I was belting out,

"Simply in debt, deeper than all the rest"

New Yorkers were a bit puzzled - but I let them know the background

In all honesty, any player who does stay at Rangers is taking a huge risk especially given the majority will be able to earn more money elsewhere with much less risk going forward.

It's difficult to see why any first team player would really want to stay, yes they may love the club but they have got to look out for themselves and thier families.

The only loyalty that players have is to the next pay cheque in most cases. It's not entirely surprising that both Steven Whittaker & Steven Naismith have chosen to walk away so to speak. Statement's like "supported them since a boy" and actions like "kissing the badge or jersey" generally make me sceptical.

Both players are not worried about the situation or status of Rangers their only concern is to pick up a large signing on fee and the possibility of higher wages elsewhere. The gesture of reduced wages was a no-lose for these players as with the insertion of clauses in their contracts essentially they can walk away.

The realistic agenda of Rangers will be to get players in on sensible wages and grow the club back out of it's self-inflicted mess. A few barren years should allow the club to regroup and regain it's status domestically.

Someone should tell Charlie Green to read up on TUPE rather than issuing legal threats to Rangers players and their new clubs

This isn't like when Juve were relegated and they retained some of their long serving stars. I assume they still had money. Rangers are in dire straits and footballers have short careers. It is no surprise that established players want to move on. Why would anyone want to earn peanuts or ply their trade in a lower league when they can earn more elsewhere? Sad but true.
