Hi,

Like most people on here im getting pretty hacked off with the n00bs who only play with either Barca/Madrid/Man Utd, not only that but press the game 100% without any penalty in doing so.

I personally play with Arsenal, as im a fan and try to emualte their style of football.

If anyone is interested in a few games of decent football with reasonable teams then feel free to ping me an invite.

Also, why is it when i pick a team say for exp, Roma, At Madrid, Hamburg, Villa, or a lower league team, the other player still goes to ****** Real Mardid etc?

custom match - set the star rating of your choice and in my case set controls to manual and bingo you have a match that restricts noobs picking the Madrids or Barcas ...

has worked fine for me and i've had close to 100 games online

Yes. I agree. I like using Bayern Munich. Not because I'm a fan or anything cos i'm not, but because they hav a decent squad with some good players but no superstars really. Ribery is good but not in the Kaka, Messi, Ronaldo club. And I also really like their stadium!

I'm also happy to use other teams too who are rated even lower so if you want a game and you see i'm not in a match the feel free to send me an invite!

Im glad this has got a decent response.

Like a few people have said here, i quite enjoy playing as a championship side sometimes, but next to no one will follow suit.

Ive also found that when i restrict the star ratings etc, then the opponents just quit?

As for manual controls, i must admit, i hate them. I tried using them for a while in Fifa 09 but didn't get on with them, maybe i just haven't got the patience for that.

Not sure about the COD stuff either, however that's on pre-order cant wait!

akane - I'm slowly making the transition to manual controls and think it's a different(better) game with them on. I really like manual passing and a slick passing move that would be a few simple button presses on assisted is so much more rewarding on manual.

However I'm really struggling with manual shooting. Any tips?

To the OP - I'm a boro fan so if you want a few Championship level games give me a shout. I've also got to try out some 3.5* teams for a league I'm in so if you fancy playing at that level as well?

Take a step back and think.... why should someone else (especially if they are playing ranked games) make it any easier for you? I personally want to win, as I find losing an online game of FIFA10 the most infuriating thing in my life. Sad I know.

I'm not knocking you JAL, the offer in your thread of a decent game (like minded people etc) is a good idea - but it's tasters choice unfortunately.

For the record I play as Arsenal and obviously hate playing against Chelsea/Barca/Inter 99% of the time!

The only way I see out of this issue is to set ALL online player/team stats to be equal. That way EVERYONE is on an even playing field (pardon the pun) and we'll really sort the men from the boys!

I understand the competitive side of it, and when playing ranked games online this is understandable, but when playing with a team like barca, the opponent will then be real for exp? Whats the difference in being say Hull & Wigan etc? Same star ratings? Thats my point, you dont get an advantage being Inter, or Man persay, as the opponent will always be one of the other "Top" teams.

Also this is the same for pretty much all non ranked games, even when there is nothing to gain etc?

I dont agree with all the teams being equal etc, as that ruins the game, as certain teams have certain influential players i.e Rooney for Utd or Bent for Sunderland etc.

The point of this is to express my distain for people ALWAYS being a top team irrespective of ranked/non ranked even when the opposition picks a lower rated team.

Luckily to my delight there are people who feel the same way and want a few games (not all, because we all like being the top teams) with teams of a lower rating, and to play someone who also doesnt mind being a weaker side.

If for example i supported MK Dons id never get a online game with them! now that would really **** me off.

I'mn cack at FIFA so i wont embarress myself on this one but i do know what you mean. I played a few online games and have done what another poster says on here, To choose a custom match and made it with lower league teams. Ended up having some cracking games but as usual got whacked. hehe

Another great league to play with is the MLS league from the US as some right weird combos of players to make up some teams (from the likes of Beckham down to Cleatus from the Simpsons!)

Well if the online match history would work on eafootballworld I would show off my best moment of Fifa10 a 1-1 draw with a guy who picked Barcelona and I picked Burnley lol even went 1-0 up in the game.

Manual imo is much more rewarding as you have said. I have been playing manual since Fifa 09 as I came from PES 2008. When you work those triangles of passing and create space it feels great. For shooting on manual I can't really give you any great tips that will change your games just don't rush your shots and most importantly make sure you have thumbstick pointed in correct direction this is crucial in manual shooting. Just take your time.. goals become so precious on manual large percentage of my games are decided by 1 goal.

My team is Bradford City - and i would like to play as them online but as you say, i'm never going to be able to overturn Barca / Man U / Milan, etc, and to be them isn't worth it...

If you or in fact anyone wants to add me, then please feel free to, as some lower league teams action (at one of the smaller grounds) makes for a much better game, it's more "authentic", and it's a greater sense of achievement when you pull off something dramatic!!

Hi, Absolutely I've already added some of the guys on here, and it seems that most people play it pretty regularly too Even if its a case of unranked games etc, its sometimes nice to just have a decent game with avg teams. Feel free to add me etc and im sure we can get a game going, same goes for rest of the posters!

I got up to about level 19 playing online and once past about 12, the quitters pretty much disappeared.

As for 5 star teams, I've come to accept it. I always play as Arsenal and the thing that really irks me, is when someone comes in and their team is Liverpool, Arsenal, or some other good team, they still change to Barca, Real etc. I mean, *** is wrong with Liverpool? They're a 5 star team.

Anyway, my problems are not being able to win now. Won about 3 in 30!
