Fifa 09 Age Restriction PROBLEM!!!!!!

Just got hold of Fifa 09 and it won't let me play online. Keeps coming up with some crap about not being old enough to play online. No other game I have comes up with this crap and I can't figure out how to fix it. Google is useless as is anything I can (or rather cannot) find on both the EA and Xbox websites. Does anyone here know how I get round this. It is really starting to **** me off as all I want to do is spend a Sunday evening playing Fifa with my friends.

I'm 27 btw.

Strange as Fifa 09 is a E rated "everyone" game so age shouldn't come into it whatsoever.
Gotta be something to to with family settings on the 360, but then said u had no problems before so that seems unlikely. Check them settings (Guide button/dash - system settings/Family settings/xbox live controls) and if all is well then dunno what's wrong never came across that before.
Was playing Fifa 09 earlier.

I've checked the console settings and everything is unrestricted. I assume it is some problem with the POS we love to call EA as it is their servers I have this problem connecting too

yeah mayb, but fifa is near flawless online despite it being "EA POS" as u put it and age restriction shouldn't come into play anyway.
See what others have to say about it, seems a strange and rare problem to me.
never heard of it before especially when u say all settings are fine (should be default ok anyway). so dont know what the problem is.

1 of my freinds kids had same problem as you and it turned out to be when he registerd for xbox live he put in his date of birth when he was 11 or 12 but the ea server wouldnt let him play online until he was 13 i think. so he could play other games online but not fifa because ea have an age restriction. this shouldnt aply to you tho as u r 27.

So I've just dropped £30 on a game I cannot play online which is the whole reason I bought it. Nice. Just another notch on the gravestone of EA. Do they intentionally try and **** of their customer base. Why put an age restriction at all? Its a footy game, I'm not killing, shooting, grenade tagging, 2 piecing or chainsawing anyone so why bother with it? GoW, COD, Halo and any other game on xbox live doesn't have this, only EA.

some thing to do with ea not letting kids talk to adults over live i think was the reason. could try phone/mailing m/s or ea to see what the problem is.

Yeah but if he's never messed with settings and has his proper DOB in his account there shouldnt be a problem.

Sure there's nothing wrong with any date of births etc like he said above? didn't even mention it at first cos seemd stupid.
But u shouldn't be having this problem at all!!, should work if all was well so something obviously isnt right somewhere, Not ea as it works fine.
Tons of other fifa players here so mayb others will have a say.

Where can I find what DOB I entered when I signed up for Xbox Live? I can't find it anywhere on the xbox website. The only problems I seem to have with games on both the PC and xbox is when they have something to do with EA. So sorry if it seems like i'm ranting, but this new experience has really put me off getting anything EA again unless I have done something stupid.

When u go to family settings/xbl controls does it say no child profiles found?
Just been into account management on my 360 and while all details are there, there's no dob.
Maybe try "initiall setup" and check everything there.
Have u another EA game to try online? Try it if u have.
Have u mayb had a an EA account years ago (when young) and used the same mail address when set up xbl and that mayb causing probs?
infact na even that would be ok now ur older Hmm strange one.

If all ok to my first question then u shouldn't be having problems and is strange.
May have to be calling support.
The few replies to this with no real answer means no-one else ever had this problem.
Oh and put you gamertag in the section on forum user profile, i dont like it when people dont put it in.lol.

Had a friend with a similar issue with another game (not a EA Sports game). Not sure exactly where it is but if your Xbox Live account is linked to another Live account (i.e. Hotmail), you could try logging into that service and changing your details.

Also have a look around xbox.com to see if all your registered details are correct.

If everything is fine and it's still doesn't work it might be worth raising it with EA. I think the address is http://support.ea.com (or something like that) and there are some support pages to search through and if that doesn't solve it you will need to sign up and send them a support message, I sent them an email when my DLC stopped working, I didn't get the fix I wanted but they did respond quickly and I did get some tips to try out.
