I have lost count the number of times this year there has been heavy rain predicted for a F1 race/qualifying.

When the day comes round we the viewers are often left with sunny skies.

Hi Guys, I watched the qualifying from Hockenheim today
How long has the Track been shortened . It seems more like a giant GoCart track than a F1 Track. In my opinion it was better before with the big long straights .

They butchered, sorry modernised it in 2001/2 first GP was 2002. Redesign unsurprisingly done by everyone's "favourite" F1 track designer Herman Tilke.

yeah it was better although as Bundell pointed out it was not much of a challenge for drivers and actually very simple - although it was great seeing the cars going at those speeds down the straights.

I do like the new layout though

Yes it would be tragic if once again Vettel cannot finish from pole...

On a side note, I am all for uniforms but lime green socks?!

What's the forecast for the race then? Can we expect some rain? Was expected yesterday for qualifying, but only a little bit of spit turned up.

It'll be up and running just before the race

BBC Sport - F1 - Live - German Grand Prix

It's there now as an option but obviously won't work until they start...

Yeah navigation is one of the BBC F1 site's weak points easiest thing is to go to the 'live coverage' page each race and the options (onboard etc) gradually appear!

They've changed the tracker this week rather than having it 4:3 stretched (edit: now back to how it was!). All these options gives us in the UK probably the best value F1 coverage in the world!

What a joke, I couldn't detest that baby Alonso anymore.

If he wins I hope the crowd boo, it's things like this that are ruining F1.

well, a prancing horse can't change its spots afterall.

a shameful day for F1, and yet again it was supplied by ferrari team orders. it's not up to massa to let alonso past, it's up to alonso to take the place from him under his own steam. if I was massa or smedley, my faith in ferrari would have been shattered.

he was unfairly demanded to play second fiddle to schumacher, and to have to do it to alonso when he had the moral high ground is just ridiculous. I get the feeling they are just trying to appease alonso and don't want another prima dona episode like the one he had at mclaren.

very disappointed, and my estimation of alonso has dropped even more for having another outburst over the radio to ultimately get his own way.
