The PC shows up on the Archos but the Archos asks for username and password for the PC account. I have no password on the PC but it insists on one. I set up a separate account with a password on the PC but it still doesn't work. All PC settings I can think of are allowing access. New member and looking for suggestions. I have had a Shinco 7" DVD player for almost 5 years and many happy hours. It is now not playing and I get the 'no disc' screen message. The laser blinks twice before the message appears.

It been a great unit, owes me nothing but before I give up on it, any suggestions? I don't want to spend much as the money can go to a new model.

Looking to get my 2 kids portable DVD players for Christmas.

I've seen this in Argos (of all places!) - Buy Bush BDVD 7298M Dual 9in In Car DVD Players. at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for .

It's essentially 2 portable DVD players - but i'm assuming with just one main unit (which would be the difference between this any just buying 2 seperate portable DVD players). The main advantage (I'm guessing) is that with just one DVD unit it can be charged (from cigarette lighter) and both DVDs can be watched - whereas if we buy 2 seperate ones and their both flat then only one person can watch a DVD (since we can't charge / connect both to the car at the same time).

Anyone out there got experience of buying portable DVD players and any recommendations? If anyone's got this model I'b been keen to hear experiences - not sure Argos reviews count for much!

I currently have a little b+w tv in the kitchen (little being 4" tv), and for xmas my wife suggested she replace it for me with a colour lcd (we'd bought one for her father last year).
At the same time she'd said she'd like to be able to listen to music in the kitchen (our music is on a NAS), so thought it would be sensible to combine the two.

i've searched, and the Archos 5 seems like a neat solution, but I must be missing something, does it have a freeview tuner built in, or do you need to have an extra bolt-on?

Are there any other recommendations? So I've come across these two devices but I really can't decide what they offer when compared to each other

First off there's this Sumvision Cyclone Micro Upscaling Multi Media HDMI Adapter which to me looks like it will allow me to plug in usb sticks and memeory cards and view the movie content on any TV in my house with HDMI or composite inputs. Great, exactly what I'm looking to do and a cheap price too :)

Then there's this unit Sumvision Cyclone MKV 1080p HD Media Player

Now at more than twice the price of the first item, what more can it do / offer over the cheaper unit?
