Anyone upgraded (or moved sideways!) from the 507 to a v10 and happy?

I would particularly like to hear from anyone using one with SkyHd and how well (or not) it copes with the less good channels,and whether 1080i or auto (576p) gives the best results for SD.My viewing distance is 9-10ft.

The obvious upgrade choice would be a Pio 5090,but they're difficult to obtain now,and a bit pricy too.

I am thinking of getting one of these tvs. I have seen them side by side showing HD content once before and the g10 did look brighter and smarter with better motion display.

But I've read sd performance on the g10 is not as good as x10. The main things I will need to use tv for are:
sky tv sd
xbox 360 & ps3 with DVD and blu ray.

If anyone could please send me! Is the g10 worth an extra £250?

this tv is for 90% ps3 gaming the other 10% being DVD's through the ps3.


will i notice 300euros difference while i'm gaming?

is IR better on the G10?

in the showroom the X10's picture while watching tv was a little darker then the G10, does that mean that the PS3 games and films will also be darker?

The X10 is on offer until tomorrow so quick answers really appreciated!!!

I was wondering if someone could help me. I have just aquired two Panasonic TH-42PWD6 monitors from work as they were going to be thrown out. I am trying to connect my PC but cannot get the monitors to display anthing at all. Both sets are not accepting the signal and I have tried three different PC's. The monitor has a PC Input and Seriel connector plus two BNC inputs and thats it for inputs.

Does anyone have any suggestions???

First was a green strip on the screen, second was a sound issue and now it shuts off and blinks 12 times at me!

I just can't work out why this unit is so faulty and even though I have a 5 year warranty I am starting to think I should try to ask for a replacement now as its just not good and I have lost faith in it.

Does anyone know what the 12 blinks mean this time round?

I was also trying to remember how to get the self test screen up which would show the fault. I should be purchasing my new tv within 3-4 weeks - which is most likely to be a Panasonic X10 42" model.

I currently use a 28" Pansonic CRT but have a nice Sony 5.1 DVD system, which will be used with the new X10.

The 5.1 has one optical input, so currently my 360, PC and freeview box can share this, which works nicely - albeit with a tiny, tolerable delay.

Following the purchase of my X10:

- Freeview is onboard
- 360 is HDMI
- I am tempted to buy an NVidia HDMI input-enabled graphics card

How would running PC and 360 into my TV via HDMI and running just one optical cable going into the 5.1 work?

- Does the TV optical output support 5.1?
- Is it high quality/full featured compared to using the devices optical?
- Is it more or less likely to have a delay?
- Should PC look nicer with HDMI (rather than VGA)
- Will sound from NVIDIA be good and full featured? (Currently use Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum optical output)

Obviously using all HDMI is more practical and means everything is done on the remote, rather than manually flicking the switcher - but quality is, of course, the most important issue.

Not only did I waste half a day on the phone to JL customer service, but the reserved set (at £749.95) was sold because I couldn't get back to RS in time :mad:
I've asked RS to ring me when more stock's in only to find their price is now £929.95 :eek:
I'm beggining to feel manipulated. So sod em, I'm sticking with my old CRT.

I have the above Plasma and I have had it for 13 Months and all of a sudden the Telly makes the blinks noise and the Volume icon flashes on screen and then just keeps going on and off and stays on until I turn the telly off.
I use a cinema box for my sound so I switched the TV speaker off thinking this might help but now I get a message on the screen saying sound not available.
This image doesn`t go away and locks out the remote so I have to turn the telly of from the front panel
Has anyone got any ideas on whats causing this as I didn`t take the extra warranty out and it is getting on my nerves.

I own a Panasonic TX-P50X10. Below is a quote from the review for the

With the Greyscale calibrated in the service menu I suddenly saw the potential on offer from this base model plasma"

Ok a couple of questions.

1.) Why dont Panasonic or other TV makers tune the greyscale before they send the TV's out ? I get the impression from the review on this site that it makes a massive difference to the picture quality.

2.) Has anyone calibrated the greyscale on there TX-P??X10 and did they
notice a big improvement ?

The main question is why would a TV maker send out a TV not runnning at optimal performance. Or is it that they think that the greyscale tuning that they have setup actually gives a picture that most people would prefer ?

It seems really strange to me you would think that they would want to send out the best version of the set they could ?
