My question is regarding the Sheimpflug adjustment on a Runco 940 CRT Projector.

I cant seem to loosen the bolts to adjust the scheimpflugs setting. I reference the Barco 708 manual, as the Runco manual is useless in this matter, but my Runco 940 has these white plastic extensions where the bolts should be. I afraid to force these white hex-topped plastic extensions for fear of breaking them. Has anyone dealt with this problem? Can the scheimfplugs on my projector be adjusted?

Furthermore, after reading more of the Barco 708 manual, I noticed the 708 had upper and lower screw adjustments for static convergence aligninment (red and blue cross-hairs converging on green cross hairs) but the my Runco 940 seems to only have screws on top. The lower portion seems to have rivets instead of screws. (?)

Not sure it I'm just missing something, or do these projectors just come preconfigured allowing for no adjusting. (at least no way for the common joe) I appreciate any help.

I am new here. This forum is a great help.

Thanks!

Would need a crossover box of some kind..
Would I get any benefits from this? If the projector has 1000 TV lines

I find it hard to believe this quality is standard DVD so what I'd like to know is the projector using its 1000 tv lines and in some way line doubling even though its not supposed to have this function?

Why is this picture just so good?

Hello,

I am looking for some advice with regards to my old Vidikron VPF40SE CRT projector. This projector did some great service in my home theater for around 8 years, but for the last 3 years has been sitting around doing nothing. The problem is that the power supply has failed, and as this was one of the very few projector actually manufactured by Vidikron themselves, parts and service information has become very difficult to obtain.

The frustrating thing is that the tubes are in excellent condition with no burn in, and the rest of the projector was working perfectly right up to the point the PSU failed.

The tubes in this unit are 7" but are only SD resolution.

Is there any value in this unit anymore or should I just take it to the scrap heap? It seems such as shame as this Pinninfarina designed projector looks in mint condition, is there anyone in the UK who buys and breaks these units for parts and spares, or are there any companies left in the UK who specialise in servicing old Vidikron CRT units?

Thanks and best wishes,

Dave

What I'm looking for is an idea of what price/model of new projector ie lcd/dlp/3 chip dlp etc that will blow my Cine 7 away. I have no idea at what cost I'll need to spend to do this and how far the "new" technology has come.

Last time I went down this road a few years ago my Cine 7 was still giving them a run for it's money.

Hello,

I stepped over from a dutch forum where a placed a question about my Barco Data 800. I still have no answer for my problem so I like to try it overhere.

I have a Barco for 3 weeks now. I connected a HTPC on input 5 with a RGBHV cable. Now since I have no picture I connected my Onky DVD player on input 2 with a S-Video cable, but I don't know if this works.

I took out all the prints and checked the components and all solder connections. Wath looked like a bad connection I re-solder, but unfortunatly I found nothing. I also tried 2 deifferent VGA - RGBHV cables, without result.

After placing back the prints, I put the power back on. You here the fans blowing and I hear a vibrating High frequency sound. The red led on the V-board is out. Strange, since there is no source. When I put on a source (DVD on input 2) and select this input, the vibration in the high frequency sound is gone. When I choose an input without a source I see the red led on the V-board comming on, and going of when I select input 2.

I see the end of the tubes glowing, but I here no static sound of the tubes going on. I don't see any red led's burning.

I checked the leds on the power supply. All 7 yellow leds are on and the red (scan fail) is off. When I change the input the red scan fail led blinks, but maybe this is normal.

I checked the red led on the EHT board and it's fine. It doesn't come on when the projector is on.

I see the red led D23 a little bit glowing on the H-Output board. It says in the service manual that this led is on whem the image is to wide.
I tried differnt resolutions on the HTPC using VNC on another PC, but again no results. Resolution is now back on 1280x720 bij 60kHz.

I don't know where to look anymore. I can see no fault, but I still don't have any picture. I turned up the Brightness and Contrast, but stil no picture. I see the controller board responding when I push a button on the remote, so the Barco gets its signal.

Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction. Until now I couldn't find a solution using seach engines.

Hopefully I get it up and running again. It's my first experience with beamers and I'm already hooked.

With kind regards.

Bert

Hello,

I need your help because I am a newbie to the club!!!!!!!!1

I have the following CRT projector
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/3000/dsc00030l.jpg

I bought the Onkyo 607 AV receiver

Now I am trying to have TV through a VCR to the projector, so that later I will connect a DVD.

I bought an RCA-scart cable and connected the VCR(video) to the Onkyo AV receiver. And then, from the MONITOR OUT of the receiver I have connected with the following cable the receiver with the Projector.
http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/1507/dsc00028ha.jpg

The result:

I have sound from the speakers connected to the Onkyo, but I have no video signal to the projector!

What should I do?

Here is the connection to the projector
http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/273/dsc00019l.jpg

Is it possible that the receiver is not compatible with the projector?

From the remote control of the projector I am putting the zero "0" number channel, which I think should show the signal received from the VCR-AV receiver.

Please be as detailed as possible because I do not know a lot of things!

Thank you in advance

Hi everyone, feel a bit silly for posting this problem but I have tried everything (including downloading the manual already).

I have a working SVP-350 projector and mainly used it for my Playstation and to watch DVD's (it's used in a dry basement).

All was well until I one day tried to hook up an old American laptop I had to it (Laptop was NTSC and loaded with over a 1,000 arcades roms / MAME emulator project I was starting on).

Well I guess I got to the correct menus and pressed something to make the screen go to the wrong screen format and now alas I am well and truly lost... (there is no clear menu to work from, just a no signal screen or a wrong format picture to view)

I have tried everything and thought I would try one of you expert type chaps...

If I play a DVD now, the picture is all distorted but you can make out that what the DVD is playing (stuck on the wrong region format...).

Help, I'm pretty sure this projector is still alive and kicking, just at the point where it's going to be thrown down the recycle shoot... :lease: help!

Tony (UK).

As far as I remember it has about 1100 hrs on it. It has Delta HD 6C lenses on it, I also have the origional Delta tac 4 and a set of Sony HACC PT-43 which I never got round to trying.

I also have a set of Sony CTR's Q7 MP liquid cooled ones, these are mounted on the front steel framework complete with cableing and tube PCB's.
Not sure why I got these but they look in excellent condition.

I have now gone Digital and need to clear my house of some of the clutter.

I wondered if the collection would be of any use to someone for spares or whatever.

I do not want anything for it, but would prefer that it went to someone who would do something useful with them, rather than throw them away or have the hassle of trying to sell them.

The snag is, it would have to be collected, and everything to go together.

I live in Tamworth B79
