I think it will be ok for what i need and at a price i can afford... Now i need to set it up.... and the problems start for me..
I also have a DVD player and a TNTSat (french freeview). I get confused with what should be linked to what with the scart leads...

Has anyone else experienced similar problems over the last couple of weeks?? Is this an issue with the box? I have taken out the coax cable and scart and reconnected, still the same issue. I have tried the coax ariel cable on freeview enabled TV set and i can receive all channels with perfect picture quality

This would be interesting as you can attach a portable hard drive or memory stick and record direct to them. Then you can just plug in your laptop or stream over a network. Anyone got one or used one? I've posted my question here as I have a Humax 9300-T PVR which my Sony Bravia is connected to.

I live in Manchester and all the time watch my TV channels via my PVR but checked only today whether I had BBC 1 and BBC 2 on my digital TV and I don't. Literally there is nothing there it says, 'Selected programme is not available'.

I appear to have all my other digital channels on my TV but was wondering if anybody else has had this problem with their Sony Bravia.

I've never had to tune in my Sony Bravia as when I turned the TV on when I first got it it recognised that it needed to pick up channels so if somebody suggests re-tune the digital channels (which may in fact be the solution) I'd be grateful to hear how I do this.

The recorded programs list at times shows multiple enteries of the same program and occasionally doesn't show any recorded programs at all. At the moment I have used 90gb but the program list shows empty. The original drive stopped working 10 months ago and I replaced it with a new one and all worked OK until a couple month ago. I have recently taken the drive out and did a full check on my PC with the option to repair bad sectors etc. (it took all night) and the program found nothing wrong. After putting it back in the 9200 it worked for about a week before the same problem started again.

On my TV I still get the channels I have mentioned, but nothing on the Humax 9300 so cannot record :confused:

I'm totally new to all this, so I'm wondering if you can get a product like this:

A DVD/VCR combo, not necessarily for recording VHS onto DVD but just for playback.

Also with a USB input which you could put a portable drive into, and play video through - like with xbox 360.

Can you get this? Or even just a DVD player with the USB in? The only USB I ever seem to see on these players is for jpg/mp3/wma so I'm not sure.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?
