I just changed out the lamp on my HC2000 DLP projector. As soon as I changed the bulb and turned the projector back on... it says the usual 'Warming up... please wait'... then I see the input on the screen (which looks perfect)... then after a few moments, the status light on the projector changes from blue to a slow flashing red and the 'LAMP' light comes on. The projector is in GREAT shape... very clean and maintained. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I've contacted multiple repair places as well as Mitsubishi themselves... no one has any idea what's this means or how to fix it. So to my projector enthusiasts... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive been roped into helping a friend in getting a projector the problems are that the distance from screen to projector location is 7.4 metres, and he managed to get a cheap in ceiling screen (beamax) which is 105" diagonal. We asked in a local store and they reckoned would be very expensive to get a projector to throw this distance , so the alternative was to get a Navitar conversion lens which will reduce image size by 20% so if this is the case what are the most reasonable priced projectors that will carry out the job.

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers

I have an Xbox 360 connected to a Philips LC4745 LCD projector using an RGB cable.
The problem is there is a constant tear line about a third of the way up from the bottom of the picture. I have tried everything I can think of to sort this out with no luck. I've tried different resolutions and connecting it via vga to no avail.
I don't think it's a projector problem since I've also tried a Philips LC5141 DLP projector and the results are the same except for the position of the tear line.
I tried connecting a friend's Playstation 3 to the setup and the v-sync problem was still there.
I don't know if it's a problem with the current generation of consoles because a PS2, DVD player, laptop or anything else I've connected to the projector has no such problems.
I really hope someone can help me with a solution as it makes movies viewed on either console unwatchable and although games are affected to a lesser extent due to less horizontal movement, it's still pretty annoying.
Many thanks,

Jimma.

Sony Hw10/15 or something else?

Decided to buy a Hw10 and found that most companies have no stock, or if they do have stock than the price is 2K+ (there are a few doubtful companies advertising stock at £1500) The Hw15 appears to be available on very few shelves and dealers I have spoken to seem to think prices have not been set and should be around £1700.

So that has put me in a quandry. I'm happy to spend £1700 + a bit and the pj I had decided on is in short supply, over priced or has a question mark over it's origin.

What to do ? I'm keen on the JVC range as an alternative but the price is miles higher (might be able to get a deal through a friend of a friend). Any thoughts this side of Xmas, or is it time for a new kitchen instead :god:
