I've recently moved back to Boston and dug up my Loewe Aventos 30" TV from storage. My stand was damaged, so I need to get a new one, but don't know how much the TV weighs. Does anyone know the approximate weight of a 30" Loewe Aventos? I purchased it new in the US in early 2004.

I'm assuming 55kg, but this is just a guess really, and I want to make sure I get a stand that can hold it.

Also, I'm assuming the Aventos is not compatible with BluRay -- is this correct?

Trying to figure out whether I should get rid of the Loewe and get a brand new LCD/Plasma or keep it, as I only watch TV occasionally.

Are today's LCDs/Plasmas (not at the high end) comparable in terms of picture quality with the Loewes of a few years ago?

I have a Toshiba 56" WH 08 B Rear Projector Television.

The main problem that I have been trying to address for the past month is the fact that when you switch the power button on the audio or visual does not appear, however the Front LED flashes Red to Green continuously

We changed the power supply to no avail even though the High voltage appears but then the protection circuit kicks in.

Otherwise the set is in very good condition, the tubes are in good nick, no signs of fading.

Any suggestions as to which board this may be on?

When it is switched on it is OK for a short time but then the picture just goes totally blue. The sound continues as normal but the screen is blue. if it is switched off and then on again it is OK for a minute or so but soon reverts to the all blue screen. :lease:Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how I go about getting it fixed?

Now, I wanted to install my playstation 2 on it, used the scart cable, but I'm unable to find the video channel. The tv has got 39 channels, looked them up but was unable to find a video channel.

I have just emigrated from UK to NZ. Our UK stuff we shipped finally arrived yesterday and I set up the TV (Toshiba 32ZP48) straight away. Unfortunately the picture is badly discoloured.

The once blue DVD startup screen is now Purple along the middle, and is especially bad at the edges. When playing a DVD, the picture is accordingly awful, but it's more like it's missing a colour than making this area purple.

Is it terminal? If anyone knows what could cause this, can I get it repaired?

The tv is a 32inch crt Toshiba flat screen 100hz with built in suround sound it is a good looking tv but i guess this could be the end off the line:eek:

My Niece has a Sony KD32DX51U which has died and I have been nominated to fix it. The set does not Power Up although it does show a red LED on the front that flashes twice. I've looked around for some info on the possible cause and the best info that I've received so far is "SURGE,STBY R618 (270k)", so I guess that this means that the resistor has gone open circuit but I am unsure as to what the resistor is doing, I'm assuming that it is perhaps related to the LOPT but I can't find a circuit diagram of this set on the web. I think the chassis number is FE2D. Does this sound like an expensive problem? I don't know whether its worthwhile spending money on it as although its only two or three years old it only has an analogue tuner so will probably need replacing sooner rather than later.
