Firefox browser slow at loading pages

Hi guys yet another little issue i hope this forum can help me solve.

The problem is that my laptop seems to take an age to load certain web pages,It has seems to be something to do with loading adds and banners on web pages the more there are the slower it is,the only way i can get it to load a full web page is to click the refresh button maybe 2 or 3 times..... I have checked my connection speed and am getting most of my 10mb so i dont think its to do with that,Any advice would be great. cheers.

Remove back cover off Packard Bell Easynote SW51-120

I need to get the back cover of my Easynote SW51 to replace the power jack.

I have removed all the screws and only one corner seems to come away.

When I get home someone has suggested going along with a credit card to see if there are clips.

Like I said, I removed all the screws and its not coming off and I don't want to force it.

I have googled for a service manual for my easynote but am not having any joy. The disassembly instructions I find are not for my laptop and don't actually mention taking the back cover off itself anyway!

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and need a bit of advise/guidance...

I have to give my Toshiba Techra M5 Laptop back to work after I was made redundant and I'm now looking into replacing it.

Have been considering Dell and Toshiba, as I really like the AccuPoint...but I have always liked the MacBooks..

I'll mainly be using it for writing reports, web browsing, photos, music, movies...maybe some gaming...

Not really sure which I prefer, have you had any experiences / recommendations?

Laptop Broadband Connection

Hi Folks
A simple question hopefully.
My brother has a Laptop which is wireless connected to Broadband, at his home.
If he brings his Laptop to my home, would he be able to connect to Broadband and use it at my house. ( I am also wireless Broadband) ?
What would be needed to allow this to happen ?

Looking for a pink laptop or netbook

I'm looking for a laptop though a netbook may be more appropriate.
It must be pink in colour and have a decent battery life.
It's going to be for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas.

Her basic needs (currently) are playing on the Cebeebies website and typing on the likes of Word or Notepad etc

If I opt for a netbook then I assume she will still have the option of watching a DVD by using a USB drive?

Any recommendations for a budget of up to �250 though may increase for the right product?

i am being constantly asked by ppl to search for a laptop for them for browising and thats about it, ive been looking at dells for them but they aint sure, does anyone know of any other laptops which are fairly cheap and will do the job for them, they only require a 17.3" hd screen

I an looking to replace my desk top PC with a quiet low power PC that i can use for general use but that I could fit with a large HD.

I was going to keep my normal large PC and get some network storage or a USB hard drive to use with a WD TV Live or something similar.

I thought that combining the 2 would allow me to leave my PC on 24/7 as it would only use a little power and the large HD (around 1 TB) would hold all my media & connect by ethernet to the WD TV live.

I am using a Pentium 4 2.4G PC at the moment which i find is powerfull enough for most things i want to do.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what i should get.

Hi All,
My 10 year old Dell Dimension XPS 450 desktop is slowly grinding to a halt, so its time to upgrade. My home computer usage now is mainly to upload songs to iPod, net surfing and storgage of digital photos. So for convenience I am considering a laptop.

Having said that about usage, when I do upgrade I want to be able to backup and store camcorder footage (from miniDV) and do some editing. Nothing major, just trimming/tidying up of raw footage.

So I do need some level of performance, and would need a fair amount of disk storage - possibly 1Tb disk space. Although I'd like to relieve my youth, I dont need (and wouldn't) use gaming power. Would also prefer Blu-ray playability (even burning) but not essential.

I'm starting to look, and am heading towards Dell again, mainly because of their configuration options.

Now having been out of the PC/laptop purchasing loop for nearly a decade, how to Dell's comare today ? Are there are any manufacturers which also offer Dell-like config options ? Any recommended manufacturers ?

just wondering my laptop that i was given has a 2ghz celron prosesor in it i belive its a socket 479. its a intel celron 2ghz 550.
what upgrade can i do on the prosesor i orderd a 2.4ghz celeron socket 478 but not sure if it will fit but for �4.00 i could not leave it.
would this laptop take a duel core prosesor or say a centrino .

I have been asked by my niece about a laptop for her daughter. It would be used for homework and web browsing (no image editing or powerful gaming so need not be top specs). She has been looking at the Dell Inspiron 1545 which comes in at �399 has anyone any opinions on this laptop or would they recommend anything else in the same price range.

p.s. I notice this comes with windows 7 home premium, is this going to restrict software compatibility or would older software still work OK.

HDMI output from laptop wont fill HD TV screen

A family member has a samsung R620 laptop which has a bluray player, HDMI out, 16� HD WXGA (1366 x 768) display and I Mobility Radeon� HD4330 graphics card.

I have it hooked up to a samsung LE40A656 full HD tv.

When trying to play a bluray(Startrek) on the laptop screen cyberLink bluray player wont, as the screen is not the correct max resolution. when i set the display to be the HD TV, the movie will play, but the image does not take up the full screen of the tv. when using the pc standard ( writing letters etc) or watching a bluray, there is a border of about an inch that is not used on all sides of the tv.

no matter what i do i cannot get the tv to display a bluray from the laptop without this border of 1 inch on all sides of the image.

is this to do with the native resolution of the laptop screen? shouldnt i still be able to use the native res of the tv, if i set the primary display device to be the HD tv?

Best Netbook to get for use outside/travelling?

Hey all, could really use your help in trying to get a netbook. There are millions out there and I'm a bit lost so any help would be greatly appreciated:

I'm off to go travelling around the world and need a small/light netbook to take with me. I'll be using it on transport, when in bars/cafes with wifi, outside i.e. on beach or outdoor cafes

My requirements are:
-small/light
-long battery
-can use outside when its sunny (does this rule out any netbook with a glossy screen?)
-optional: powerfull enough for me to play Football manager on
-cost should be <�400 (ideally <300)

daughter bought a dell laptop about 10months ago but now she cannot get windows word to operate it says somthing like "the trail has ended and should you wish to purchase it it will cost ***"
