I was just wanting to ask those that know more about this game.

I have Gears of War 2 already and have played it a little and enjoyed it when I did but mainly just let the whole GOW thing fly right by as I was more into Call of Duty.

So I do not have any of the DLC though whatsoever but always intended on getting some if it made the game better.

With Gamestation selling the GOTY edition for £16 which apparently contains a load of DLC, can I ask would it be worth buying this then just selling the GOW2 that I have already?

Looking on Marketplace now I can see a load of DLC to buy

Dark Corners Multiplayer Map Pack - 1200pts
Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection - 1600pts
Snowblind Multiplayer Map Pack - 800pts
Combustible Multiplayer Map Pack - 800pts
Flashback Multiplayer Map Pack - 400pts
Locust "Cyclops" Helmet - 160pts
COG Helmet - 160pts
COG Armor - 320Pts
Locust Drone Armor - 320pts

The above seems like it would cost an absolute fortune to buy separately and a lot more than £16.

So can I ask do you get all of the above in the GOTY, or which do you get if not all, and would it be worth rebuying given this cheap price for what you do get.

Having a bit of an issue with Gears 1 and the difficulty settings in co-op.

I've completed the game on insane (three times!) and a friend has completed it on hardcore (once).

We started playing through on insane (with me hosting the co-op game so he gets the Dom achievements) but it always sets his difficulty setting to hardcore.

We tried it the other way around (he hosts) and low and behold, his session is insane but mine hardcore!

I don't remember this happening on the previous playthroughs, but it's been about two years so maybe I've forgotten something.

He's even tried starting a single player campaign on insane, quiting then joining my insane co-op game, but it always sets his game to hardcore.

Can anyone shed some light?

I was trying to play 2 player from the same console as in not split screen but as say me as Marcus and the Mrs as Dom all in the same battle.

Do I have to be online? Do I need Gold membership? Does the Mrs need Gold????

To celebrate the first anniversary of Gears 2, we've decided to have some fun by having a special event where you get to play in a different kind of way. During the development of Gears 2, we were really interested in seeing if we could push the game to be more tactical (at least how we define it). A big part of this was increased weapon damage and reduced ammo counts along with a bunch of other more subtle tweaks (like increasing DBNO health so that revives were still possible). Anyway, the more we played it and enjoyed it, the more we worried that we would upset too many fans of Gears 1 by moving so far away from the wall bouncing, shotgunning fragfests they enjoyed so much. So we tabled it - until now. Here's your chance to see how Gears 2 multiplayer might have been and to let us know what you think of it.

And of course, we'll make it all worth your while. During this extended event you'll be receiving triple XP (yes, I said triple, even in Horde) and we've separated the playlists by individual game types so you can play exactly what you want, when you want. And if the wait times aren't too bad, we'll keep them that way after the event as well.

So to sum up:
Nine day event starting morning of Nov 6th
Play in "tactical" mode across all MP gametypes including Horde
Triple XP
Public Horde difficulty bumped to Hardcore
Playlists have individual gametypes

This means that waves 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 will be nothing but Boomers—get ready for some wicked fun!
