BD390 - possible to crack the region code after firmware upgrade?

Just recently bought my LG BD390 - awesome. Unfortunately, upgrades my firmware before resetting the region code - so I can't play half of my dvd's anymore. Does anyone know how to reverse to the previous firmware version so I can crack the region encoding on it, or alternatively a crack that will work on the new version?

Thinking of buying a Harmony remote, does anyone use a Harmony with the 47LH4000, does it work and are all the standard LG remote button features supported by the Harmony?

hey my remote control has stopped working with my dvd player, so i reset machine nd changed batterys nd still nothing, is there some way that the remote needs to be synced with machine or do i need to buy a new remote? its baffled me cos usually when the batterys die i change em nd its fine :S any help please? cheers

The LG LF7700 has in the past received lots of brilliant reviews and recently it got another one to add to the prize cabinet. In the latest issue of What HiFi Sound &Vision , the 47" LF7700 was reviewed as part of a group test and was awarded a well deserved 5 out of 5 stars. The review is very complimentary and here's a little snippet for you:

Conflict between 47LF7700 and Samsung V Box

1st Post so please bear with me.....!
When I turn on my LG TV initially the Virgin Media Cable remote controls do not work. I can change channels manually using the buttons on the Cable Box. Then after a 20 seconds or so without touching the remote controls the channels start changing on the Cable Box e.g. changing from 101 through to 159. It takes about 10 minutes for it all to settle down and I am then able to use the TV and Cable without issue. Action taken so far – Virgin Media engineer has visited and seen the issue. He changed the cable box for two others (I believe older versions) with the same results. He then turned off my TV and attached his own 19in LCD TV. No problems. So there appears to be interference between the TV and Cable Box. I referred the issue to LG and they sent round a local engineer from a 3rd party company. His report states ‘Inspected LCD and found between Samsung V Box and LG TV RF signal from both is stopping channel change on V Box. When TV first turned on the cable channels race through.’ He has sent his report to LG and I am waiting for their answer – although not that hopeful.
Any suggestions most welcome.

PS3000 Owners Thread

Hi folks,

I asked the LG Blog guy if I could start a owners thread of the ps3000 series.

I know there is a thread in the plasma section, but alot of the information on that thread is realtating to other tv's and tyhe thread is nearly at 30 pages.

By the looks of it, I have noticed a few extra members with PS3000 sets. So I thought it would be good for a thread just for the PS3000 owners.

Lets get the ball rollings...I love my TV :)

I see and have read the threads on the USB actvation using the remote method, i also understand the need to downgrade the SW, my set is on V03.40.00. My concern is i live in Spain and i don�t see any reference to my model no. on any of the threads. If anyone has any experience with this set i would apreciate it before i mess it up.

Which LG plasma for digital images (JPEG)

Hi,

I'm deciding for a new plasma TV. It will be in dimmed livingroom, viewing distance about 10 feets. Beside mainly SD watching for now and very occasionally some HD material, main reason for buying is watching digital photos. I'd like to buy a 50 inch LG plasma, series 6000 because of design. I'm note sure about the resolution i.e. PQ6000 or PS6000. If full HD is an answer, will there be any difference between PS6000 and PS8000? I'm ready to spend some for for better image quality.

47lh30 overscan

Hello

I just bought a LG 47lh30
everything works well but, when I connect my computer via HDMI it overscans when set to 1920 x 1080. pc wants the resolution at 1600 x 1200 which fits the screen with 0% over scan.

running an nvidia 260 gtx with spdif pass though, still not getting sound though.
windows 7 ultimate 64bit

I want to run at 1920x1080 what am I doing wrong?
I have not tried the vga connector, but really don't want to use it.

LG TV Remote Codes

Hi all,

I've just has Virgin Media installed and I was wondering if anyone had any success finding a code to get the LG supplied remote to control the Samsung V-Box?

There are lots of resources explaining how to get the Virgin remote to control the TV volume, but this is the opposite of what I want to do. I want the LG remote to control the set top box.

There is a button labelled STB on the remote and the manual states it should be possible, however it then only lists remote codes for HDSTB which I assume is for High Definition STBs, the only code given for Samsung, 123, does not control the SD Virgin box.

Has anyone had any success? IMHO the LG remote is a lot nicer than the Virgin remote and allows me to fully control the TV also, it also appears to have all the buttons required to control the V-Box.

Panasonic DVD recorder & LG tv compatability

Hi, first of all please note I am a technophobe and am struggling. I have had a Panasonic DVD recorder for approx 5 years , a model DMR-ES15EB. I recently bought (about six months ago) an LG LCD TV with biult in freeview.

Before the digital switchover I was able to record BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 from my DVD recorder. Now, since the digital switchover I seem to have 'lost' BBC 2 from my DVD recorder programs. Come to think of it, even after 'auto tuning' my DVD recorder, it appears to tune and store all the above channels other than BBC2. It also does not tune & store any of the freeview digital channels. Is this becasue my DVD recorder is not digital compatible?, do I need to buy a new DVD recorder?

Can somebody out their help?

Is there any easy trick/tweak to make this usb port active ( yes i`m pretty noob) ? I found some info how to downgrade firmware on some lg models. And now the great question, where can i find right firmware versions for my tv? Current firmware version is 3.40.

LG 37LY95 picture fault

hi i have an LG 37LY95 tv which i purchased back on the 8th January 2008 from Richer Sounds and has now started to play up ,as this is now over a year old it is not covered by the manufacturers warranty (although i would have expected a tv to last longer than just under 2 years)whilst watching DVD's about a week ago the picture went like this

about 2 hrs into the movie and now does it after about 20 mins (tried different DVD players and used both scart and hdmi with no change)called up LG and all they could say was to try a factory reset (which has changed nothing) or else pay up another �499 for repairshas anyone encountered this problem thankskel
