I've had a KDL 32D3000 for 2 years and have never been happy with the picture. It always seems too dark. To get a half decent picture I have the settings: Standard picture mode; Contrast 87; Brightness 87; Colour 95; Colour Temp Neutral; Sharpness 22; Noise reduction high; Black Corrector high; Adv Conrast Enhancer high; Gamma high; Clear white low; colour space normal. The backlight and hue adjusters are unavailable for adjustment. I assume these are automatic. The TV is housed in a cabinet. I have tried the TV out of the cabinet but this makes no difference.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can anyone advise how to improve things? Have I just got a bad TV?

Sony HXD790 - Failing to store channels after retune?
Granada Area - Winter Hill Transmitter.
I have recently had a new aerial fitted together with a signal booster. The aerial is connected correctly to the above dvd hard drive recorder which is then connected correctly to a Sony Bravia TV.
When I retune the TV it finds all the correct digital channels and stores them correctly.
When i retune the dvd recorder it finds all the channels but when it is switched off it loses them. That means that it has to be retuned everytime I switch it on.
Sony stated it must be the signal strength but the TV is working perfectly. I have had one recorder replaced by a new one and the same problem occurs.
Can you please help me?! Thank you.

I then checked settings muteing off volume up etc, still no sound. So unplugged all kit over night. This morning its the same so I did the pink noise test to speakers no output . So turn the TV settings to tv speakers and not AV amp alls working.
I have a simple set up Sony 46X2500 fed via 1 HDMI from Amp, which is fed from Sky HD box and and Sony BDP-S550 BluRay all connected via QED HDMI.
Is the amps sound section cream crackered ? :lease:

Hi. Can anyone help me add my Sony Bravia KDL-W5810 to my home wireless network? I am trying to stream media from my Sony Vaio VGN-NR21Z to the Bravia through a secure Belkin Wireless N router. I am running Windows Vista and Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.

My Bravia when tested says connection succesful for network (plugged in via ethernet cable) BUT cannot display any info for server ("server cannot be recognised"). Wondows Media Player 11 is set up for Media Sharing. Bravia does not appear on network map (sits at bottom of page and says it cannot be added but I don't know why or how to add it).

When I access router setup the only client listed is my laptop but I don't know if I can, or how to, manually add Bravia if this is the issue.

Is this likely to be Bravia being blocked from internet access (bookmarking of online photos doesn't seem to work) by WPA protection on router OR some issue with Kaspersky blocking access?

ANY help or suggestions greatly appreciated as I'm getting nowhere fast!

Many thanks in advance.

My first thread on here so hi, and help needed

I have a 40"sony kdl40v4000, which i bought after doing alot of research back in Feb of this year.

lately i have noticed some bluring whilst playing games and watching dvds, i first noticed it when i was playing call of duty 4 the other day, i did wonder if its always been there and now ive noticed it im looking for it, but surely not and its a fault somewhere.

its noticeable on dark against light movement, so for example on cod 4 on one of the night levels if you look up at the trees then turn left and right quickly the trees blur across the sky, or you go into one of the houses and turn quick you see the doorways, pictures or people blur across.

This is with the brightness on 52, alot of the games calibaration menus require the brightness to be 42 or 36 on EA games but anything below 50 and its far worse, if you put it upto 60 it starts to go.

ive tried another HDMI lead, another socket and adjusted the settings,

My mate has basically the same tv, slight lower spec and its 2 years old so its in the old grey colour sony done, anyway i done the same thing on his cod 4, same settings and the blur was not present at all.

Told sony this and i took my PS3 upto a local centre and they tried it on their v range, same settings, no blur.

I even tried lowering the brightness on the 2 tvs to try make them blur, but nothing.

They said they would send some one out tuesday, but if a fault is not found i would have to pay £80, i told them that if they dont find a fault im not paying and they will have to change the TV because to me there must be something wrong,

My current settings are
Cinema
Light 3
Contrast 88/90
Brightness 52
coulour 50
Temp warm 1
sharpness 5

what you reckon people
