I've tried to fit it directly to the RF2 output on my HD box, still no red light.
So to check the link, i tried a 9v battery and the led lit up.

So it's definatly a problem with the box.
The RF Output is switched to on, tried resetting it several times to no avail.

What can I do?
can you get a link powered by itself rather than the box?

As i have had to get a new box, (old thomson, epg issues all over the place) i decided to use copy+ to re-instate to 1tb. One thing which is not clear from what can find on forum and copy+ help, if i do a xtv back up of my files, when i restore will it re-format the disk to 1tb (thus removing the orignal programs i backed up)? Or do i need to do something first to manually remove them? Obviously want to ensure i dont make duplicates and loose some space.

I use an optical switch to connect my samsung htk to the switch, then optical cables to my sky box and one to my htpc. However, when it finally came on there was no sound. I took the cable from the switch and ran it to the sky box straight from the htk and the sound worked. As soon as I put the cable back into the switch - nothing. I've tried changing the cables (all new last week) but still nothing. I have also tried an optical splitter but that didn't work either. Both the splitter and switch worked with all my kit this morning before the sky box was swapped.

I had SKY HD installed yesterday (Amstrad box onto 37 inch sony KDL37P. The "engineer" set it up in about 10 mins and left. I switched on and turned to SKY SPORTS 1HD (CHANNEL 408). Then to SKY SPORTS 1(401) Guess what? I couldn't see any difference beween the two!! Is there something wrong with the set up or am I doing something wrong? having searched the forum i cannot find anything that answers this question.
can i move to a new address and have a new sky hd set up or would it flag up at sky if the bank account is the same.
morally some may not aggree with this and in some ways i do understand but i did try to get sky out to do a repair and due to a mistake on my part re the dates the 12 month warranty was out by 5 days and they would not help other than normal sky engineer call out.
would any of the forum members know the answer to this?

Can I get the box I want and the same deal Sky are offering (£9.75/mth and £30 install) from an independant installer??

Will it work with a HD 'card' (I know I wont get HD) but just want something to 'watch' until the HD box is sorted

and if it does work, does it matter which of the 2 cables are connected?
