Now originally all I wanted was HD capability, some footy and movies but now having had my appitite wet by the Ethernet port and the murky world of CS & all of those possiblities & it is making the choice is alot more difficult.

Having read some great threads on this forum I have to say that I am unlikely to be happy paying for an illegal cs service as I don't watch that much TV. And it all sounds like the free cs sites are unreliable. Which leads me back to my dilemma, is the Ethernet port on the Super model really going to be used by me? £100 more isn’t a drop in the Ocean and the way I see it I can save myself £100 and go for the non Super model instead.

I am thinking of going for the TM 6800 HD receiver unless I learn something today which changes my mind.

I have a perplexing problem.
My original setup was a Phoenix Apollo , with a technomate dish and quad lnb, with a Moteck motor.
All worked fine for a couple of years, and then one day I switched on, and the motor promptly drove the dish as far west as it would go, straight into the wall, ignoring preset limits.
I had to turn the power off to stop it.
It worked intermittently after that, and then starting going East when West satellites were selected, used goto function, that worked for a while, and then would go to zero, and then move 10 degrees one way or the other.
Tried manual operation through remote, and dish would only twitch by about 2 mm every press of the button, then suddenly activate on full drive the other way.
As well as this, Hotbird decided to receive no signal,
tried manual operation outside, and would only twitch by 2mm in either direction, eventually halting completely.
I thought this had to be the box, so replaced it through some friendly advice found here.
Humax Foxsat PVR duly arrived, and set up through an amazing menu, then found the same problem still existed.
Well then, It had to be the motor, new one sourced and replaced, technomate 2300, all set up, and worked fine, 6 usual satellites found. Overnight, I went downstairs, and the clock was on on the front instead of the usual red light, thought nothing of it, and found in the morning everything deleted.
Started again from scratch with limited time, and set up 5 satellites, all worked ok.
Returned home later, and tried to add another satellite I had before, and the dish would not move, tried manually, and was working the same as before, tiny little steps, with occasional normal movement, then would suddenly drive west until I managed to stop it.
After this I had to keep 'stepping back, took ages including a couple of wild drives west, and got a signal back on freesat, then found all channels had completely gone.
Motor drive is on continuous,BTW, but when I first installed with all the new bits, the motor limit function did not work, neither did a remote E/W drive work.
The satellites came up through Diseqc, and were stored that way.
All controlled by single cable, sky plus through dual cable from 2 ports, and the other attached with one of the free ports. I've reattached all the connectors, in and out, and swopped one port to another.
All thats left is the cable and the quad LNB, surely they could not cause this?

I am about to buy a Panasonic 42" g10 Plasma TV with built in Freesat.I also have a Sony RDR HXD 560 recorder.The analog signal is about to be switched off in our area so can you tell me will I be able to record on this machine while watching another channel,or will I have to buy a humax recorder to record one program while watching another.I am about to get rid of Sky because its getting to dear and rely on Freesat.

The loft box will have sat 1 and sat 2 connected to a dish it will also be connected to the UHF roof Arial.

1)Does this mean that on the combined feed I will have 2x sat and UHF?

2)Can i run a Triplex & diplex from the combined feed? I.e run the comined feed into triplex and then into the diplex?

3) The diplex requires a second feed (SAT2) I assume i take this from one of the normal outputs?

4)I use window media center could i record from SAT1 and Sat2 and UHF (2 channels) at the same time?

5)Can four TV's be watching four different freeview channels at the same time and then one tv watching SAT1 and recording from SAT2?

As i said loft boxes are confusing i've read a couple of guides but i'm still confused:(

i have fitted a quad LNB to my old Sky dish & have got freesat working no problems. When i connect a new cable to one of the other 3 ports i do not seem to be getting a signal to my old sky box, but if i swap the cables i do get a signal to my old sky box using the other cable but then not to my freesat box, it seems the quad LNB is only outputting only one signal at a time. today without moving or touching any of the set up thats been there for over a year,I seem to have developed a problem, my sky+ box has a scart to tv so everytime I switch on the tv the sky channels come on automaticlly,but today switched on tv and it went to tuner and the only way to get sky on is to use tv remote and select av, I tried changing scart lead to no avail, I then got my other sky+ box from upstairs andchanged it for the "faulty one" ,got it all connected up and that worked fine,
I wondered if there was anyway of altering settings on the sky box or is it an internal fault with the box
