Having read may pages on various forums, along with the sky v virgin fan boy arguments. Could anyone tell me if its that much better. Starting at say sky sd from a Thompson hd box is a 5 out of ten rating for a sd picture. What would the virgin equivalent from their hd box rate at. I've sort of lost interest in the hd content, as most of the wow factor has dwindled over the years. Had sky hd since the world cup, so pretty much from launch.

TIA :smashin:

When i try to connect to TV on demand i get a back box in the corner with the message "Just a moment" - it then gets stuck like this, i can't press any buttons etc, i have to reset the box. Its an Old SA.

I also have a sammy SD box in the bedroom and on demand works no probs.

I think i may have caused the problem, i was tidying up all the wires behind my tv unit so i unplugged everything, moved it about and plugged everything back in.

I've checked all the cabling - its all in tight etc, reset the box numerous times, unplugged the power and white cable, left it for a few minutes and plugged it back in but still cant seem to get anywhere:(

Hi all
Okay so i am having an install this friday and after searching wondered if i could get a few points cleared up with you.
I have had cable in previously years ago and have a terminated end black cable in the attic space from the old install from which a white cable then ran back downstairs to the tv box.
Now this is in a 1st floor flat with me being the upstairs so the attic floor is my ceilings, now i am having extra boxes put in the bedrooms so will the installer go into the attic and drop the cables down pre drilled holes (attic is all floored as being converted to another room).
point 2 re the modem\router will i get a length of cat cable (like a self install) to connect to my pc as i would like the modem also in the attic or what will happen here?
Thanks
Robert

all in all pretty happy with my virgin media install that replaced all of my old services from different providers

however my one gripe is with my new samsung v+ box that everyone raves about, i have to admit it does look great but scrolling right of left to view different channels is alot slower than the old sky plus box,

its not a complete disaster i can cope with it but someone mentioned you can turn the live rewind tv feature off (which i dont really use) and this will make it alot faster as the v+ box sets up the record on each channel you view

any thoughts/other experiences will be appreciated

p.s. if it helps anyone i piped the signal to my rooms upstairs using coax and rf modulator from maplins

thanks

No obligation afterwards - so as long as you remember to drop the package back down after two months your sorted.

Thought id share - just incase anyone wanted the full package over the christmas period :)
