Hi, I've had WMC Vista running on a little old Shuttle PC for a while now - not very high spec - 1.6gHz Athlon CPU, Geforce 6200 graphics etc, but 'good enough' for playing movies and TV etc.

However, I'm having serious problems with the music library - when I open music library it tends to take a while saying 'add files to your library' before it actually finds the library (I've only added my local My Music folder for it to even look at, although I had a problem with it insisting on looking at my desktop PC in my bedroom for a while), navigating the library is horribly slow and when I choose some music to play it tends to hand around with the stopped icon showing for ages before it starts to play, often it just never bothers.

This is really doing my head in! Anyone know what may be causing this and how I can fix it? I've tried defragging, running ccleaner, getting updates etc etc to little avail :(

Hi everyone,

I have 2 problems with the setup using DigiGuide, DG2XML, XMLTV Gui and BS EPG.

1) not all channels appear to be exported - for example, Crime and Investigation +1, DMAX+2 are some I've found so far...

2) I have real problems getting epg data to show for some channels in media center - the one that I'm concentrating on at the moment, is Virgin1+1. I think the problem is that the channel is showing as part time (probably from MS EPG data), but when I try to attach the exported data from DG, it just won't stay attached!

Thanks
Does it matter that the sky card in question is a multiroom, standard sky, non-HD, non-Sky+?????
Hope someone finds the time to post and help me :)

Hi all,

Well I've just got my new shiny copy of Win 7 and have upgraded some components in my media centre ready for the big switch.

I intend to get freesat and with it HD channels etc. I just have a few questions please:

1) I have an Nvidia Quadro NVS285 card. Not exactly a gaming card but okay (I think) for 2D stuff. Its been fine for the last 2 years running MCE 2005. I can't find anywhere if this card is HDCP compliant? I think it will play HD okay (I have played clips with it) but I want to know if it will be okay with the new blu ray player that I have purchased....

2) Is purevideo supported in Win 7? If not what is recommended? I presume FFDShow will still be a must?!

3) I understand that Bluray discs aren't automatically supported in Win 7? What do you need to get them to play in the MC interface?

4) Any other codecs/progs required? Funky add ons?

5) MCE 2005 doesn't allow recording of TV to a network location. Does Win 7?

for interest spec will be:

Win 7 Home premium
Elonex artisan barebones case
Asus p5b-VM mobo
3gb Kingston 800 Mhz ram
Liteon Ihos04 BD rom
WD caviar green 1Tb HD
Nvidia Quadro NVS 285
Blackgold BGT 3595 dual DVB-S2/DVB-T2 WHEN AVAILABLE :-(
Samsung 52" LE52M87BD

Thanks for any help!!
